So here's a random task for anyone who wants to participate: Make a list of what you consider to be the most influential Flash submissions from 2008. Not necessarily your FAVORITES, but the ones that introduced new styles, new trends, good or bad, etc. etc... Post your list in this thread and we can all discuss it.

Gone Too Far by DonkeysBazooka was one of Donkeys' best work.
The RWD Crew went the distance with all of their wonderful spam (Earth, and Dinnersaur being my fav's.)
The "Ng Voicemail #973" was my favorite Stamper submission, and it was the first of Stamper's stickfigure animations. And, I have to say, Stamper makes the best stickfigures.
And, ofcourse, the "There She Is!!!" series showed others that NG wasn't all cock jokes.
Frost'D was, and is, one of my absolute favorite movies by MINDCHAMBER
Madness Inundation brought everlasting joy to blood-thirsty Newgrounders
Yotam Perel brought us the best episodes of the Nameless series to date,
and that's all I can think of right now.

Influential flash? Well I'd have to say that SpikeVallentine, the person who influenced me to get into flash animating in the first place deserves that title.

First of all, he gave speed animating a new name, with his series of speed animations, starting wiht this one


And of course he made an entire 30 minute movie by himself! How amazing and influential is that! Here is the trailer


I can't wait to see what else he produces in the up coming year. I'm sure it will be amazing.

Another influential animator would be TheBoogley. He managed to put a whole new meaning to the word collab with the One Big Morphing Orgasm collab, as seen here


That's all I can think of for now, I'm too tired to think.

Those wall paper are definetly awesome, now if we outside of the trend of animations who is doing new stuff and using really kool technics w/on point sound effects I'd have to go with the Gun_Chest series. Plus it delivers in action and the story line is solid.

I agree that Nogfish belongs in the 2008 history, his style always feels fresh and like the sort of thing that will inspire the next generation (as you mentioned). The question is, WHICH movie of his is most defining for this 2008 work... Is it Headache? Or something else? Nog, got a preference for what your defining piece is?

As for most influential of '08? Tough to say...I think my favorites of '08 have been Mastermind 2 and 3 and "With My Mind's Madness"

The latter getting me pumped to make badass music video/flashes of my own in '09.
