That's a great one but I believe it was inspired by this, which deserves a look:

I remember these two being pretty big. Influential in that they added new mystique to knowing all sorts of stuff about newgrounds :D

anything by nogfish really, but I thought of this one in particular as an 'influence' for the young animators just starting out with flash

and then Its Still Me for how personal and frightening it was.

Also:

My favourite flash game of all time, it's a sublime mix of action and mystery conveyed with a number of different techniques.

Morrowdays's largest solo submission of this year, it was very well presented.

A collab which Morrowdays and myself organized in the summer, it turned out very well indeed.

A smaller production my Morrowdays', but never-the-less very interesting and full of charisma.

Really liked this one.

Ingenious co-op puzzle fusion.

Neat sequel.

An incredible ambiguous short, which experiments with a whole series of animation techniques.

An awesome customizable feature, with a bajillion combinations.

Very addictive.

Awesome sequel.

Obvious epicness.

Possibly the best puzzle of the year in my opinion.

Mind blowing.

Personal favourite.

:D

Might think of some more.

that's weird! we've done that a couple times now, haha.

and I totally forgot about cardboard city, it was definitely influential, I think. I know I LED IT WITH NICK AND STUFF, but I dont think that should invalidate it as one of my picks. :P

I am real impressed with Osakus work!

As for NG history 2008. I guess it wouldn't hurt to throw in my two cents.

This one is by far the most CLASSIC of 08.

I didn't even like Chucks new Tux, but it was one of those flases that everyone had as a favorite. It really is well done.

Same as Chucks Tux, I thought this was great eye candy, even though I didn't think it was funny. (lol MAN, I was wrong about two NG milestones in one year! :P )

This flash had it all! It was funny, thrilling, silly, crude, and beautiful. -sniff

I feel like this baby is self explainitory.

We all know this is NG history worthy. The whole series is. Remember when all three episodes were the top 3 of top 50. XD.. .. I do

9.9 average score for reviews with about 3000+ says it all

GUN CHEST! I'm just wowed by the whole series, even though I aint much for anime.
http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/gun chest.html

One of my favorites was Funnies!! It was amazing to me how much HATE this flash caused. Just look at how many zero reviews it got, and the best part is (to me) how dumb every zero reviewer looks. Everyone that said: "this has lame animation," "bad sound," or "dumb jokes" "cock jokes are lame," really didn't realize that they were only looking at the way the creators of this flash viewed the shitty parodies that the zero givers little pedestal favorites had to offer. If you don't enjoy the flash much read a review or two, either way I die laughing.
Lets be real though, the damn flash is funny.

I love myself!

I also think that this collab was by far the biggest NG ever had and awesomeist.. (no pun intended; like MindChamber made once!! ;)

(MMM NUMMA NUMS!)

Thanks for reading my thoughts on Portal History entries for 2008.
Happy New Year!

RB (sorry about my grammer and spelling errs

PS HONORABLE MENTIONS!
a simple pleasure piece

I'm sorry, this was a funny series.

I died laughing.

What can I say. Mario + The Beatles = WIN

I will never forget the first day I learned of Catoblepas. I really won't because I gave this flash a 5/10 right before it passed judgement and got FPed.

HotDiggedyDemon has had a fantastic year. That being said, I think

is a flash that all other should mesaure against in terms of great writing and great humor.

is another good one.
To me, the most influencial art style is from MoreLikeBlue, but sadly we've been without the masterful work of Gobi this year.

Also I thought

set a new standard for sprite movies.

Ego improving his animation from past works will have influence on those who try to just get a laugh to try and get a laugh while supplementing their work with great animation.

It serves its purpose.

my newgrounds had the most blatant imitators, awesome was definetly influencial this year, even if it was a negative influence imo.

Gone Too Far by DonkeysBazooka was one of Donkeys' best work.
The RWD Crew went the distance with all of their wonderful spam (Earth, and Dinnersaur being my fav's.)
The "Ng Voicemail #973" was my favorite Stamper submission, and it was the first of Stamper's stickfigure animations. And, I have to say, Stamper makes the best stickfigures.
And, ofcourse, the "There She Is!!!" series showed others that NG wasn't all cock jokes.
Frost'D was, and is, one of my absolute favorite movies by MINDCHAMBER
Madness Inundation brought everlasting joy to blood-thirsty Newgrounders
Yotam Perel brought us the best episodes of the Nameless series to date,
and that's all I can think of right now.
