Osuka has made two really cool wallpapers that we just put up in the downloads section. GO HERE and you will find them in the lower right corner - Tankmen 3D and MindChamber. It's like a Christmas gift from Osuka to the rest of us!

So here's a random task for anyone who wants to participate: Make a list of what you consider to be the most influential Flash submissions from 2008. Not necessarily your FAVORITES, but the ones that introduced new styles, new trends, good or bad, etc. etc... Post your list in this thread and we can all discuss it.

The tankman one is pretty nice, but the one i really like is the MC one.

I love how Alien Hominid is there inside the box i think the idea was really well made. Also, what program were those rendered in?

If there is still a way to see the NG frontpage archive of submissions that had be frontpaged over the year I would be able to compile a list.

The only two submissions I can recall from the top of my head would be these:

I was part of both, that's probably why I can remember them. Sadly A Night In Hotlanta wasn't as influential as I thought it would be, but MGF definitely did its job right.

Awesome wallpaper, 3D definately isn't an easy medium to work with and it looks great. Tried thinking about what influential flashes there've been this year and it's been such a long year and I've not seen as much flash as I'd have liked to, but I've just put one down for now.


- We'd all been waiting for it for so long and when it finally came most people were extremely pleased with the result. I'd say it's influential in the way that if you look back at the first MGA and the quality of animation compared to this one, it's amazing to see how much you can improve with practice and determination especially for those who aren't artistically inclined as soon as they put pen to paper or mouse to pad.

I have to thank t'Chamber for Frost'D.... the whole family had a good laugh at that.

As for influential stuff this year... hrm. I love defense games and the bloons ones are always awesome. Other than that... Salad Fingers? AM I L8?

We still want to get the video ports back on track for the podcast, but it's always a pain getting Flash movies to work well in video format. Luis has podcasting plans for 2009.
