It's simple really. Japan takes small steps, slightly improving their products over and over again, until they are near perfect. The US, on the other hand, tries to leap and bound to make their products much better, while making small mistakes. Take Vista, for example. Instead of upgrading Xp slowly until it was great, Microsoft wanted to just jump to an entirely new OS that was way better, but had a ton of mistakes.

I dislike anime, and their foods, and traditions, but it really doesn't bothers me, they can suck as much as they want as long as their as far away from me as its possible.

Anime is like the genre of "comedy" in America. There are few gems that are considered good, but the on the whole, the entire genre is considered crap. You have to do it just right for it to be considered good. Anime is good if you have a good show. But most of it is just a remix of other shows.

Deeper meaning in them? My ass. Everything can have a deeper meaning if you make it into one.

You're just talking about all the shitty series' Americans put on TV, there are a lot of good animes out there that aren't aired.

I have watched a nice majoriety of animes from japan and even a few movies. A lot of them are pretty nice and thick in storyline but some make no sense at all. For example A cat returns, she dreams of what it's like to be a cat and eventually turns into one. Thne you have ones somewhat based loosely out of every day life such as Lucky Star. Just yea, animes come in wide varieties from serious to down right kiddy.

Everyone has their own opinions but sometimes people should just stay queit and to themselves so people won't flame and annoy the shit out of them.

I like Anime, music, and games but that is it.

Oh, trust me, a lot of animes that are unaired are just as terrible, if not worse than ones shown in America.
Anime has some good shows, and some bad shows.

Some have good symbolism, while others seem to be ploys to get money off of the poor Otakus, or the morons that are stupid enough to think all Japanese shit is good.

Anime is a mostly visual art, which generally doesn't have that much hidden meaning, except if the artist is really good.
Or in this case, artists.

And not all series that get put on TV are shitty.

I'm Japanese, therefore, it'll be hard to hate my own culture. But I've been living in Canada nearly my entire life (excluding vacation to Japan and Hawaii), so I know that people in America are more obsessed than a couple of people I know in Japan.

But to those people saying they wish they could be Japanese, There is NOTHING wrong with that. It's no different then wishing you could nail Jessica Alba or rule the Universe. It's a problem if you can't discern between wishful thinking and actual limitations though.

If you like a culture, if you feel it suits you more then anything else, Hell I say modify your lifestyle around it if it makes you happy, but don't forget you are only idolizing something, not actually a part of it.

I enjoy anime occasionally. I also practice aikido. These are not related. I just enjoy good storytelling (I also watch several films a week. Oddly, I primarily read non-fiction). However, pocky tastes like crap. I'd eat Scrabble tiles before pocky if Scrabble tiles weren't so expensive. Just because things are Japanese does not make them better.
