I haven't seen the film but from what I've heard it seems enjoyable.

It's just "Zeitgeist," not American Zeitgeist.

That's what I was thinking... I had to check it out to make sure it wasn't just a similar movie.

Anyways good movie. Also the sequel is out it's called "Zeitgeist Addendum". Also you can watch it on the OFFICIAL website here: http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

Extremely inaccurate, and this is coming from a person who has experienced first hand for years at a time most of the religions they mentioned.

Also, their 9/11 portion is very questionable. Just search up "Zeitgeist Rebuttal", because I'm too lazy to give a link here.

except it gets so many facts wrong that it's laughable (mostly about religion)

it's also a terrible propaganda film on par with loose change and other bullshit of the sort

Think about this; think about how stupid the average person is, and then realize that half of them are stupider than that.

Yes the movies are very unreliable, most of the sources seem to be fabricated or mis-quoted out of context, the movies have been debunked...

I mean, most people will watch it, be presented with amazing facts, and then take it as the truth without doing any research on what the guy has said.

Zeitgeist seems to be the video that all angsty teens simultaneously cream themselves over, whilst slapping each-other firmly on the ass.

No, thanks. I'll stick to porn.

I'm an atheist who is virulently anti-religion but it fucking does, it's just lie after lie.

It's ironic that a movie that tells you to question the status quo goes COMPLETELY UNRESEARCHED by it's fans, they've never even googled 'criticism of Zeitgeist' or even WIKIED Horus or whoever else it says has an identical story to Jesus.

First time I saw it I was like woah about the 911 part. I already knew alot about jesus not exactly being the first person in mythology to be born a virgin, and knew about problems with the fed. The guy makes it into more than it is though, like a one world govenment is gonna be terrible and that there are people behind the curtain running the whole show we call life. There are people in the media like Rupert Murdock who own fox news and what not that definitely pick what and what not to show the american people in order to sway there opinion on things but for the most part the dude is just playing too much into conspiracy theorys.

Alot is just a matter of interpretation, and with the bible egyptian stuff, and 9/11 he chooses to interpret things like the people saying "I heard a big boom" into they used thermite and explosives to collapse the buildings. Where as someone else could interpret it as, the buildings structure is being stressed and its making loud noises. Don't play too much into it guys, I believe he tells you to wake up, but it is he that needs to lay off the koolaid.

I've seen it.
I have trouble believing the 9/11 section, and some of their religious points are okay, but other than that there isn't anything interesting about it.

Well you can see a one government world as a good thing and a bad thing, There are many countries which have laws that would be hard to accept. What if this one government world had laws that rid us of our freedoms and all that jazz? It's simply a matter of waiting before determining whether or not this one government world is good or bad.

There are people in the media like Rupert Murdock who own fox news and what not that definitely pick what and what not to show the american people in order to sway there opinion on things but for the most part the dude is just playing too much into conspiracy theorys.

But isn't it a conspiracy to put whatever is best on the news to sway their opinions? This person might possibly be doing the same things to get the population's opinion back on track.

Okay, if that was wrong, what do you have to support it? What are the actual facts surrounding the Egyptian religion? How do you KNOW that everything was a lie?

ALL OF IT

ALL OF IT

ALL OF IT

You should be able to tell me which parts were TRUE because you're the movie's fan; you're taking everything this movie said at face value without even looking at wikipedia

Just for your Jesus comparison bits:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horus
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krishna
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddha
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionysus
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mithras#Mit hraism_and_Christianity

yes the virgin birth has been used in a lot of religions in different manners, not surprising since sex is dirty and virgin births are obvious miracles, but Horus was crucified? Puhleeze.

Uhh because my father has a background in Egyptology and I've read nearly every piece of ancient Egyptian scripture? Hell, even my alias here is taken from the Pyramid Texts. When YOU can prove all the ridiculous comparisons between Horus and Christ are true contactME big boy.

Actually when I was at the dmv last year and I somehow ended up talking to the clerk about that. Apparently there really is a chip inside of the new passports and I think she said something about the amero dollar. Its been awhile since I've seen the movie though so maybe he said more about the "chip" than I remember.

yeah, you know what I mean, one of the silly things about religion is that it's anti-sex

and what I really meant were there are a lot of characters who were conceived through miraculous means, like a God might be conceived, I'm not sure if they make such a big deal over whether the character in question was a virgin or not

seriously you must see now that Zeitgeist is not to be trusted. Finding out what in Zeitgeist is actually useful unaltered information would be such a huge amount of effort that it's obviously not worth it and the movie is obviously garbage.
