Then just this week i noticed he had a lump in his neck. then this morning he was coughing up blood, so i took him the the emerg. vet. the vet said that he had a tare in his throat because of a chicken bone. he said it could be removed in surgery but it would cost 7000. then he said that even if the bone was removed it wouldn't heal because he had found cancer in his lymph nodes. i don't have 7000 to give up right now, i almost didn't make rent this month. so i had to put him down.

don't give your dog bones.

soory man it wasnt youre fault i have a dog to i would feel bad but cmon just yknow keep sraying calm and now you know that hes ina better place

Once I was taking care of a friend of mine's dog, so I was preparing myself a chicken sandwich and when I came back, the little son of a bitch had eaten a chicken bone, jumping on the table, so I remembered what I once read in a first aid book and removed the bone with my finger. Conclusion: Shovin body parts down any animal's throat solves any problem

But seriously tho, the story IS real!

I am sorry for your loss, and even if you don't think it would help you need to get a new dog. It really does heal your heart.

Sorry about your loss, but remember his/her death as a lesson to not feed them things that have bones next time you get a pet. If you do, obviously remove them before you feed them.

No time to remove the bones for a pet? Then you are simply lazy or you must not love them enough. When you adopt a pet or find one and decide to take care of it, then do so. Pet's depend on their master's to keep them alive, if you can't even have the time to remove the chicken bones to feed your pet, get him/her dog food.

If your dog just happen to find a bone and start swallowing it, try to keep the area clean as possible. I hope your next pet won't suffer the same fate.

Get over it, most people on average lose 5 dogs/cats/pets in their lifetime if it was your first you have 4 more to look forward too. Life Sucks its like that. Jesus my last dog "Ralphie" died in my arms at the vet, in the waiting room. So I went and bought a new one. Its not like you lost a family member. Get on with your life, remember the good things not the bad. Life goes on, except for your dog.

Its not really like that in my eyes, I become emotionally attached to my pets. I still move on, but I do treat it closer to a family member than a "1 in 5" object that I loose in my life.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I've only given my dog milk and pre-approved dog biscuits. I've heard that chicken bones splinter easily and can harm your faithful companion, but I've never heard of an instance until now.

sorry dude that sucks. My dog died from eating grass that was treated with some chemicals to make it greener and pesticides. It just burnt right through his stomach. And it sucks too how they always seem like they can fix it but the surgery is like over 5000 bucks and its horrible knowing that you have to put your dog down. hope things get better

Sorry for your loss... I had to have my dog put down a few years ago, because he was diagnosed with Diabetes. We tried treating him with insulin, but for some reason he wouldn't find a dosage that would work for him... eventually we just put him down because he was practically starving to death :'(

The vet said that it was quite likely a lot of ham bones and fat that ended up giving him Diabetes...

I'm sorry man. My dog died while I was in college. He was pretty sick near the end and my parents had the little guy (he was a Cocker Spaniel) put down. They buried him in a grove of trees in my backyard.

Find your own answers and you'll stop beliving the propoganda
