The final day for the Woolworths around me today. Everyone was practically looting, 90% off. I couldn't stand the lines so I picked up an empty CD stand they use to place DVDs and shit and walked out, with it above my head. Nobody stopped me, they didn't seem to care, it was brilliant. They just wanted to empty the store.
Anyone else had a shop close down? It's awesome.

It's actually kind of sad that woolworths went bust. I got "no country for old men" for £4 - so result?
Fuck it all, you bastards.

Some poor child who got no Christmas presents because his daddy got sacked from Woolworth's is probably reading this and hating you. On the plus side, he must have internet connection, so it's not al bad.
But yes, a Woolworth's shelf. It's not exactly 'Valued Goods', is it? It's about as retro as a crowbar, too.
Crikey.

Good luck trying to find a better bargain than that.

My friend bought a suitcase for £3, but before that, he filled it with about as many CDs as he could. Alarms were off, for no apparant reason. They probably sold the alarms too, it was havoc in there.

One of my three local Woolies shut down today, didn't get a chance to go over there. The next one goes on 2nd jan, and the last on the 5th.
It's pretty sad - never thought Woolworths would go.

I never bothered going as the one near me closed like last week and it was full of shite anyway. But I did love the shop when I was much, much younger. It will be sad to see it off the high street.
This looks squint.

Let's face it, Woolworth's was crap anyway. It's one of those annoying things where because it's an 'institution', everyone's sad that it's going down. That's capitalism. What was Woolworth's for?

It may sound selfish but woolworths shutting down means I get my friend back. He got a job there a few months ago and seems to have been brainwashed. He ran out of the shop the other day with a fractured foot and tackled some shoplifter. Half the staff seem to be teenagers so its not earth shatteringly awful.
Zavvis fucked though. they wont accept gift cards so customers up and down the country have been going mental

Woolworths was always a great shop, loved it since I was little. I went to my local one on Christmas Eve and the shelves were all empty. There were still a few decent things that were like 70% off that I thought I should grab while they were still there. I never thought Woolworths would go down, but I thought wrong. R.I.P Woolworths :(

An english professor took all his students to the Lehman brothers building to dance. It was Halloween and they were celebrating the death of capitalism.

I can't wait to be dominated by a police state, with no freedoms or rights, and spied on by secret police. This is gonna rock.

Eh. We're there and that isn't necceserily Fascism.
While I'm at it:
Mussolini was the first head of a political party in Italy (In Europe?) to allow membership of women into his party. The British strain of Fascism had a voting structure for your representative in the Corporate state. The minimum wage was given by Mussolini and freedom of the press wasn't actually attacked.
So there. :P
