I'm looking for a good animation tool. Preferably COMPLETELY FREE! I've used stick pivot, but now I would rather something with a little more freedom. Oh, and please save your "So many people will ask this question."

PS Not flash...

Free and good are hardly ever in the same sentence, unless "not really" is in between them.

If you're not willing to pay, pivot is the best you'll get.

If you want a quality animation program then you're going to have to pay to get one that costs money. There's a reason why flash is essentially an industry standard and the ones you get that are free aren't.

To get a quality piece of animation software you're looking at three figures at the very least in terms of cost.

You might be able to find something relatively cheap in your local computer store for about $30 or so. I know I've seen animation software for around that price in shops before.

Look no animation software is 15$. The cheapest ive seen for a crappy software is like 50$. The good kinds are about 300+.

Here are a few free, and not so free programs which might come in handy..

Adobe Flash CS4 Get the free 30-day trial first.
LiveSwif A free Flash-like program, but it's way worse.
Pivot Stickfigure Animator A free stickfigure animator. Only exports as GIFs though, and is very bad. OK for beginners though..
Pencil Don't know much about it, but I think it's free.
KoolMoves Free trial
ToonBoom Used less for internet animation, more for TV.

No good animating software is free. Good try, though.
