It's a somewhat stylized version of what is referred to in the tattooing world as a "Sacred Heart", although the meaning has moved far beyond it's original Catholic roots.
the image overall looks nice, the eye im not so thrilled about though.
If I may ask, what don't you like about the eye? Here's another one, perhaps this one'll match your tastes a bit more?

ummm, i think its the outline, i think you should make it dark red to match the heart, it would give it a more of a "the eye is attached to the heart" rather than "the eye is in front of the heart"
maybe add some light and shadow around it too?
and the second one looks delicious lol
LOL Yeah, Corn dogs rock. As for the eye, I can see what you mean. Traditionally speaking, I was trained as a tattoo artist, so this is a new medium for me, especially in terms of freehand stuff. In tattooing, you want everything to have a very defined outline.

well thats understandable. however, with a new mediums come new rules. me being a painter, im having a tough time adjusting to digital art myself, but you have to do what you must to achieve that which is always out of reach i suppose.
Yeah for sure. :) Guess we'll learn as we go along, won't we?

yep, and in the end it wont be enough, never is, but thats just fine.
anyway ill catch u later man, i think 2:00am is a bit passed my bedtime XD
Hey, never having enough is half the fun. G'night.
OK, for those who haven't seen or heard of The Red Thread, this was originally created for that, but I liked it enough to keep it in my running art thread.
wow that looks awesome!
Hey thanks man. I'm doing a lot of screenprint style designing right now, so this fits right in. I may use it on a shirt someday.

Really interesting, albeit kind of sloppy. But that gives it a really stylized look. This looks pretty familiar, but what i really like is how you framed the goofy heart thing with the starburst and the clouds. great use of color!

Kinda phallic, isn't it? I don't like this. The colors clash real hard. The starburst in the back looks funked up. And why ad a highlight to the gold on top, but no shadows on the dog itself? Keep working on that tablet handwriting too!

Yeah, this is Really Cool. Symmetrical images like this rock! And it's great to explore monochromatic compositions sometimes.

Thanks. This was my first time using a tablet, so I still hadn't quite gotten used to it. LOL I still don't feel quite used to it.

The corn dog was a running joke at the tattoo shop I was working at a couple of years back. The idea was, if you wanted a free tattoo, you could get a corn dog tattoo. I did try to add in some shadows at the bottom of the dog, but I don't think they were dark enough. Also, the mustard (which is what's supposed to be on top) should be a little glossier than the dog itself. Maybe I'll pull that drawing out and add a drop shadow.

Yeah, I wanted to try to work on subtler coloring and shading, as I usually use a lot of bright colors, but next to never create pieces that are subtler, which creates a more mellow feeling. Looking at my drawings to date, you might think I was taking
way too much Xanax lol.

yeah, when I bought my first tablet 3 years ago, it took me almost 6 months of practice before my tablet skills even compared with my mouse skills. About 6 months ago my mini 4x6inch wacom died from being plugged in and unplugged at the usb part too much during art school, and I've been tablet less ever since. but this summer I'm gonna buy a huge tablet for like, more than half a grand.
ArtistJ: I think I'm going to save up for one of those Walcom Moniter/Tablets... They're awesome...
Anyways, here's my first attempt at a serene wallpaper. It's derfinitely not my best, so any advice for improvement would be appreciated...
Wait, so you did that pistol one without a tablet?
BEAST.
If you're this good with a mouse, you'll kick major ass with a tablet.
pretty good pieces, keep up the good work
Evil spelled backwards is Live and we all want to do that now don't we.
Deny the big lie, don't beLIEve and don't conform.
Spaghetti14: No, the pistol outlines were done with mouse, but the shading is all tablet. :) Hope you still like 'em...
crazerfish: Corndogs are awesome.
SirSeraph: Thanks. I'll try to keep 'em coming at a reasonable pace.
