I love the hentai fanatics! Looking around on the flash posts I found this gem ( The Christmas Quiz). You are asked some fairly silly questions about Christmas and you get hentai "rewards" after each. I'm OK with this, according to each one's personal taste, but the fun begins when it's about the questions themselves.
According to it, Christmas is about "giving" (with "religion" being a wrong answer) and Christmas is a global holiday.
Part of my review was "Christmas IS about religion, as it indicates a specific religious event for one religion" (note: the birth of Jesus and hence Christ-mas)" and thus it isn't shared by religions that don't believe in it. So it's just for Christians and Muslims. Other holidays that coincide with Christmas in other religions indicate another religious event and apparently they 're not called Christmas."
Apart from the authors response another review read :"oh and for the losers bmpowell and gluer they're dumb
christmas has its roots in ancient rome!!! it was a holiday that revolved around guys getting drunk and exchanging gifts and then having a big man orgy...
and if some tells you otherwise its because they don't know and/or what accept the truth because it contradicts their beliefs... besides this is fucking smut.... just look wank and go..."
Apparently, Christmas is about gay orgies and hentai. This is what you get for obtaining your facts from sources like "XXXena: Lesbian Princess" or something like that....
You know, I'm not religious. At all! Kazantzakis wrote "I believe in nothing, I fear nothing, I hope for nothing, I am free!" and this is what I'm trying myself. On the other hand, being anti- or pro- something might lead you to subjectiveness. Christmas is a Christian holiday to celebrate the birth of Christ. And as each Christian holiday, it is also closely bound to Christian values (frequently shared with other religions), like giving, sharing, loving etc... Christ is also acknowledged by Islam as a prophet and also celebrated (in a different fashion). And this has nothing to do with whether you are Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Dodekatheist, atheist, agnostic etc. This is simply factual. The roman dodekatheism didn't include Christ and hence there was no reason to celebrate Christmas. A Hindu friend of mine when I lived in Britain used to say "Happy holidays" during Christmas as it is polite to say to anyone during festive periods.
I might be making too big of a deal here for something trivial, but it makes me wonder at which point in anyone's everyday life, simple facts are distorted to serve beliefs, opinions and perhaps even a justification of Rule 43 on Christmas...
Does everyone think that Christmas is just about giving presents, Santa Claus, the Christmas tree and lighting? And that it is a global holiday that has nothing to do with a Christian religious event?!?
