Size of flash file

Hi,

I wanted to submit a flash file which is about 30.7 mb but, of course, the submission area only allows up to 10 mb, is there any other way to submit my game to the website?

First make sure you are checking the .swf file, not the .fla file. Then, delete useless objects from your library (symbols/pictures/songs you don't use but you have in your library). After this go to File>Export settings, and adjust the jpeg compression and audio compression to make it less than 10 MB.

Are you sure it's over 30mb. That seems like an at least an hour long flash to make. Usually i've never heard of any flash that is over 30mb but make sure that you already compressed everything.

Is there one large photo / music file hogging up all the space, or is this really just one long, well done masterpiece? If it's a legit compressed flash, you could always separate it into 3 parts and just release one every couple days here to the site

This isn't a problem, because no one would bother waiting for 30.7 mb to load anyway.
So don't worry about it.

Upload that 30mb flash onto a website.
Link it with another flash, via loadMovie("YOURSWF", 0)
Simple.

compress the fuck out of it.
delete some unnecessary stuff.
if you use music, clip it to the parts that you use.
if you import the same content multiple times, delete all but one copy and copy and paste the one in flash over and over replacing the original copies.

Delete worthless junk that you didn't use. I always have at least an extra megabyte or two from that, with sprites and all. Any info on the flash?

from my point of view (a dial-up users) is that you should make it come in parts (like part 1 of my library of blah blah!) so that dial-up users can also enjoy that content but im still gonna try to get dsl internet :))

thanks but I've done everything you said and it's still above at 17.2 MB
