Okay. I've never celebrated Christmas before in my life because I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness. Slowly breaking free though. (slowly, Rag)
Is it basically just for getting gifts and money? Or is it solely a commercial period of a month or two where business can profit? Do you see the rest of your family and give them gifts even though you hate them from the bottom of your heart?

My Christmas wasn't all holiday cheery or any of that cliche bullshit, we didn't even buy a tree. Christmas is just another day off from school or work, but this day you get presents and egg nog.

Well the only reason Christmas is around is not to celebrate Christ anymore (That's why some use X-Mas to put an "X" on Christs name.) But more for profit for big companies because since everyone is buying gifts and stuff they can raise the price very high and so they make a profit out of it because of some lame holiday. That is what they believe Christmas is about.
P.S Trust me, My father owns a lot of super markets. (No litterly, he OWNS them as in he bought them and hese making a big profit out of it.

unfortunately, since my family is basically all ultra-conservative and ultra-religious so of course I must be exactly like them
but I couldn't be bothered to get them anything and they probably didn't get me anything since damn near all of them are living off retirement money

I was raised in an atheist family, but introduced to all major religions (Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc) because my parents wanted me to know that it would always be my own choice.
I'm an atheist myself. Christmas is basically having a good time and celebrating human kindness.
