yes it is, it must be an "apple certified" computer to be legal
personally I think this is a croc of shit; apple can take their stupid restrictive operating system and shove it for all I care

A User-End Agreement does not make it technically illegal, what you are doing is voiding the warranty on the product.

He's pretty much correct. And to add to the absolutely upsetting news, Apple could sue your friend's ass for using their product on a "non-Apple certified" computer.

i use windows xp, vista [on my lappy - i dont want to piss away the warranty yet] and debian. and they all work fine for the hardware they're on. someone mentioned in another thread that apple computers wil lserve them long time. ummm, my amd athlon xp 1600+ dates back to 1998, so suckadick. and i bet it plays more modern games then your g5, fagg0000000000000000000000000000ts

My ideal computer is either a Windows powerhouse or a small, cheap machine with dual-boot XP and Linux.

Oh, so now you're knocking down two very good internet browsers and a very successful Operating System? Go back to your outdated XP, and wallow in your old hardware.
