Ask either one, doesn't matter which, a question that you know the answer to for sure, such as "Am I human?" If it lies, it's the liar bird, ask the other, the one that tells the truth which door leads to heaven, open said door, and enjoy.

Actually, the proper puzzle limits to only one question to one of the two characters, making that question more important.

i would punch the birds in the face and then i would open each door to see what was on the other side. if i open a door with a bunch of flames n stuff, i just wont step outside. then, id go to the other door. =P

You can only ask one question, no matter what.

But the answer is, ask a bird which door would he pick if he was the other bird. Both birds will answer the same, and both birds will point to the wrong door when you ask them that. Go through the other door.

You ask one of them "Which door will the other parrot tell me is Hell?". You will take the door the parrot points out. The answer is always the same whichever bird you ask. Example:
T = truth parrot L = Lying parrot
1 = Heaven 2 = Hell
1) You ask T, T tells you that L would tell you that 1 is Hell.
2) You ask L, L tells you that T would tell you that 1 is Hell.
It's not a hard riddle, I've seen harder.

This was on doctor who, a tom baker one called the pyramids of mars, it was worded differently but the answer is something like this: you ask one bird is you asked the other bird which door you should take which door would it tell you? then you choose the opposite one because if it points truly then the other would be trying to send you to hell but if it is lying then it is still the hell door. so you choose the opposite door and live forever in happiness.

ask one what color it is ask the other which door to use. If the first bird tells the truth then use the opisite door than what the other bird tells you to. If the first bird lies then use whatever door the second one tells you to. Hardest riddle my ass.

Ask is the other telling the truth, it doesn't matter which bird I ask.
If the first one replies that the other is lying, then I ask the 2nd bird if it's true, if he says it's not then the first one is telling the truth, hence I pick whichever door he recommended.
If the answers are opposite I choose the other door.

It's really simple once you figure it out. Ask the birds a basic question like, "Which color shirt am I wearing?". Then ask the bird that tells the truth which door leads to heaven. Simple as that.
