Please disregard all of my pre-2013 posts. I was young and borderline retarded.
How you know what sniffing wet cement is like is beyond me.
I usually just sleep the cold out, and eat plenty of soups.
Here's a list of unprooven untested rememdies that are likely not safe, but at least they can give you false hope instead to the less fortunate "there is no cure" reality hits your mind. =D
Umm, medicine.
Or water with salt. Or tea.
Tea with some honey helps a sore throat, chicken noodle soup helps make you feel better, citrus and Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) will help you get better. Also, get some sleep. Hope you feel better.
Nyquil/Dayquil, Sprite, orange juice, and Campell's.
When I get a bad cold I just take some nyquil and try to get as much sleep as possible.

People sometimes get sore throats when they have a cold.

He didn't specify that he had a sore throat. Anyway, I'm a little bit pissed so I'm a bit retarded so if I speak shit then you'll know why.

Elios made this helpful little post some while back. Imma go right ahead and copy pasta this for you.
Alright, i'm gonna post some serious advice, on how to make the common cold go away.
First, a little backround of what a cold is.
The cold virus, is a highly mutative organism that lies dormant and surfaces, and thrives inside of our bodies. There are millions of different types of cold viruses out there. Some are strong, others are weak. Everyday you could be becoming immune to a different cold virus, and you don't even know it. It depends on if your immune system is able to stay one step ahead, and fight off the infection. If it is unable to defend against the virus, then the body has to go into overtime. This results in the symptoms you are feeling now. Your body is working much harder to prevent the spread of this virus. If your immune system were no present, the virus would consume you, and you would die.
Now, here are some tips and tricks to help your own body fight off the cold.
Liquids
1. Water - Keep the body hydrated with the most basic element. Several glasses a day is good, but don't drown yourself, you need food too.
2. Orange Gatorade - Suprisingly, this stuff is really good for a cold. It has the citrus, and suger your body likes, along with several vitamins and minerals as an added bonus
3. Sunny Delight - The best orange juice out there. Buy a few bottles of these and chug them. Trust me, it's good for ya.
4. Ginger Ale - Not my first choice, but i've been told that if you have a really upset stomach, and/or feel very weak, the contents in ginger ale are very effective with soothing your tummy.
Foods
1. Chunky Soup - Any flavor of Chunky soup is VERY good for a cold.
2. Cookies! - Yes, cookies are good for a cold. Especially soft cookies if your stomach is sensitive. Cookies provide small amounts of sugar, which your body needed to synthesize energy.
3. Ice cream - Ice cream is good for if you're feeling feverish. It will help cool down the body.
Medications
1. Nyquil - If you've never tried this stuff, it will knock you the fuck out in 20 minutes. If you're feeling sleep deprived, have some.
2. Advil liquid caps - I personally favor this one. It has the quick release coating, rather than a pill that takes forever to dissolve. It has the same effect of about 6 asparin.
3. DOT NOT TAKE ROBOTUSSIN.
4. Tylenol Cold and Fever: May have to grab this one over the counter. It's highly effective IMO.
What you can do
1. Staying in bed is essential. Your body needs all the energy is can create. Sleep as much as you can. But remember to get up every once in a while so you don't cramp up.
2. If you HAVE to go to school/work, remember to take medications with you. A little baggie with your pills in it will help you through the day.
Well i hope i helped, this is pretty much what i do when i have a cold.
Take Nyquil/Dayquil then a big bowl of chicken noddle soup and then finally sleep.
Huh?
Oh, boy.

Can always do with some Vitamin C, especially when you're ill.
buckleys cough syrup, contains no medicinal ingredients, but it works for me
or a dxm one the supresses it
large doses of vitamin c seem to work for me
or its probably just the ketamine, which is related to dxm
Well i hope i helped, this is pretty much what i do when i have a cold.
except most of that stuff is just placebo. doesnt work
ill explain it better
the cookies contain lots of sugar which is bad for you
the soup may contain bisphenol a and msg if youre dumb enough to buy it

Moron, they're not placebos, if they were then they wouldn't be sold, they have active medical ingrediants. Fucking little kids and their oppinions their paranoid conspiracy theorist parents force fed them.

Nothing personal but I think I would take a doctors word over yours when it comes to a serious medical problem. I have known a few diabetics that had to take insulin shots everyday. My friends mom was diabetic and she had to go to the hospital because she missed her insulin shots.
