If a key stops working, as in you press it and nothing happens, what's wrong with it and how do you fix it?

Pry the key off and see if there's anything (food, dirt, etc.) under it that would prevent the actual button on the circuitboard from being pressed.

Take it off if you can (be careful, they are rather easy to brake), clean it, see if anything is broken, if everything is ok put it gently back

Are we talking about a lap-top keyboard or a regular one...?
