So I usually turn the brightness down on my monitor when I'm coding because the black on white just kills my eyes (especially for those 5 hour late-night coding sessions). I recently switched over to a light on dark scheme using grays, and it really helped with the eyestrain (plus it looks pretty cool :D).

So just wondering what sort of colors other people use. Here's a screen shot of mine:

Do you use Notpad ++
I use notepad ++ and I just one white background with standard text colours.
It never strains my eyes, I do it during there day with the light on so its not too bad.

Naw I just use flash. Though Gust keeps telling me there are better options for AS. I'm inclined to believe him, too, after this last update. :/ I don't think I'll be giving Adobe any more of my money...

@Gust: Is that language haXe? The formatting (or lackthereof) reminds me of visual basic (as much as I can remember of it anyway). Don't you get lost without all the fancy braces and semicolons? :D The colors remind me of NG.

That dark desert layout looks pretty nice, too.

Same here, but I set the font in notepad to 8pt so I can get more code on-screen, I only have 17" to play with :-/

haXe looks like this. http://www.matumeistari.lv/stuff/Hscript Compiler.hx

You know, it takes like ten minutes to research.

Try writing a snip in AS that does the same and compare. This is mostly a single string with a few insertions and conditions. The language is Python/Haskell-like with dynamic pattern matching and precedence done my way. This is a simple example however, it's not nearly done.

Default Notepad++ layout, and black on white if I'm using Wordpad.

Posted from Linux. Distro may vary.

Pretty much just the MSVS IDE color scheme, since that is my main IDE most of the time. I use whatever color scheme my code editor happens to have, it doesn't make much of a difference to me, really.
