I'm pissed off about that, In the 1990s I read the I am legened book made in 1950 it was fucking great, he got captured the out of sadness, he ate some pills and knowing that the world one day would be all monsters, which were legeneds, they would see him as a monster, making him a legend, and I am legend, making him go crazy and dies while he is laughing.
I also loved the Last Man on earth, The first movie based on the book, with Minor differences. of course. It was still really good. He started out the same, and towards the end, he met a female, exept, later, after blood tests, he figured out she was one of the monsters, so... She ran away. After that, He gets note from the female saying that the ghouls are going to attack, he uses C4 all around the appartment and uses a m1 to fend them off, as he leaves, he finds the leader on top of the balcony, Robert shoots, and misses, while he is reloading, the leader throws a spear that criticly wounds Robert Neville, As he dies, the ghouls drive off in a Land rover. After he gives the girl a Vial of blood, knowing it would restore humanity.
Then in the 60s, The Omega Man came out, WHAT A HIT! I loved it, it followed like the book, exept when his Ghoul friend tried to convince the rest of them that he was good and would not harm them, they ignored her, and Ended up killing him and with his dying breaths, he screamed: Freaks! you're all FREAKS!.
Then after a long gap, I am legend comes out, Me and my family watched it, kinda dissapointed. I figured that it would be different, like the dog, in the book and other movies, the dog is found, visiting often time to time, untill it is found, dying on the doorstep. Then, robert helps it, finding it infected, robert does a mercy kill. But they killed that, thinking he would have gone crazy without the dog in the firstplace I guess.
And there were other humans? Gah, thats just bull. Now, he is brodcasting, but it doesn't work, untill one day, he gets nearly killed when saved by other people. A Mom, and a son. They help robert and they crash at his place. anyway, then a attack, thats the same, but they take shelter in his lab, Now, I would have blasted out of there, but I guess he needed a sample. Anyway, he dies from a grenade. They get to vermont, Human race lives Whoop-de-do-da-day.
I liked the first book better.
