And something else....What court would he be tried in? Becuase if the trial was done in Iraq its the same people that were under rule of Saddam (might be unfair), if it was done in the US the iraqi people would be pissed, and if it was done on the world court the US would be pissed. so really what the best solution.

WHERE ARE THE ... Sorry, wrong thread.
Due to his celebrity status, this will happen:
* Minimal fine as a gesture that he is not better than the plebs, who'd get a prison sentence.
* Having to pay Legal Fees, since the plebs can't afford to, and he can.
* About 120 hours of Community Service.
Propaganda is to a Democracy what violence is to a Dictatorship
Never underestimate the significance of "significant."

Yeah but if Bin Laden and Saddam were near each other then both might get caught at the same time. And that would be bad for the bastards.

http://www.icj-cij.org/ Most likely the World Court, they deal with heads of state who are charged with crimes who break international law, Slobodan Milosevic being the most famous of them all. K well maybe Saddam beat him in the popularity contest.

Hussein will most likely be tried in an Iraqi tribunal by the Iraqi Governing Council...they set it up just for him, after all. Bush won't move to try him at Le Hague becasue they don't have the death penalty, and he's repeatedly said Saddam should pay the ultimate penalty for his crimes.

my ideas for suddam
1) crucifie him upside down naked on pay per view
2)dip him in brown gravy and stick him in a room with a wolverine thats high on angel dust
3)send him to prison until hes about to die then kill him
4)stick him in a jail cell with american flags hanign around him and the constant american national athem playing.
5)make him watch gigli (or whatever) for about 3 years then make him watch from justin to kelly for another 3 years then kill him
6)stick him in a 50 foot hole and poor cement in there with tranquilizer guns pointgin at him so if he tries to escape, night night saddam.
7)stick him ina jail cell for life with a big man, who rapes men and poops on the walls for life.
8)stick him in a hole and let it be new yorks new sewage system...
9) heres a good one! you stick him in a cannon and point it straight at a brick wall!
10) last, let him go to hell and have mad man sex with hitler.
just some helpful ideas.

He'll take his own life long before the six years is up.

several sentences: The Geneva Convention was held BEFORE we outstripped the rest of the world in power by THIS much... Also try him in the world court?? My ass.. We did all the work so let's try him ourselves. Although handing him over to the Shiites may not be such a bad idea...they still have all teh juicy, violent, muslim, medieval, brutal,[rant][/rant] executions.

That is a curious question indeed. If you let the Iraqis have him, he more than likely be exicuted by stoning, beheading, or other method. If you let the Iraqi puppet government to have him, he will be givin a "fair" trial, then a prompt hanging following the trial. If you give him to the UN, he will likely be held in international prison for life due to either verdict or ongoing trial that will never end. I am not, personally, a fan of capital punishment, I believe it to be wrong. However in this instance, I believe the only way we can truly avoid martyring the Stalin-wannabe is to hand him on a silver platter to the actual citizens of Iraq, just plop him into the middle of a public arena in chains and see what happens. The "Hirohito-izing" the U.S. is trying to accomplish isn't working well enough.

In other words: do like Hitler.
I may have to disagree with that.

Saddam's trial could be the first Iraqi reality TV show. "Follow the trial from week to week, phone in your verdict, vote on sentencing, the choice is yours!"

I did hear somewhere that there are chances that the Saddam trial could be televised. But let’s try not to bring reality shows to Iraq. We already killed some of its civilians, let’s try not to dumb the rest down.

How about putting him on an isolated island like Brits did to Napoleon? Given that he was a leader of a strong nation for 50 somewhat years... he should be treated with some dignity.
If all else, if Bush and Americans lost the war to Iraq, what would Iraqi's do with Bush?
I don't like Saddam, because I'm American, not because he's an evil dictator... To think about it this way, Clinton and Bush gave enough orders to have enough people killed, both miitary and civilian.
Truman, ordered the A bomb drop on civilian targets in Japan, but we don't go out linching him, because he won the war and we're all americans.
How many Americans tortured and butchered innocent Vietnamese villagers--non military and civilians...
I say, watch what we do as winners... because you win a war... the flipside is the same: murderer of innocents.

Though I still stand against using cruel and unusual forms of punishment, I have to believe that you’re going way too easy on the guy. Saddam has spent decades being treated with dignity (and royalty) in his countless palaces while his people got by on what they could. Just because he ruled over that country for so long doesn’t exempt him from feeling the full wrath of justice he deserves.

I'm sure there is at least one flash game out there that lets us do exactly that.

well here's my two cents
1) shoot him in the kneecaps and make him work the fields
2) lock him in a room with my and a half gallon of evan williams green label, let him learn why my friends call me fightin irish
3) shove bamboo shoots under his fingernails and then tie him to a chair under a pipe that drips water (thank you chinese people for those two great inspirations)
4) make him drop his pants, turn around, and run through a corn field backwards
5) put him in jail and hand him soap that has been greased up
6) dismembering castration yadda yadda yadda...
9) i like the volvo/bumper sticker idea...clever
10) drop him in a random mosh pit everyday for two years and announce his presence whilst keeping a spotlight on him if at all possible
11) lock him on michael jackson's ranch

That little Vietnam comment you made is slightly off. Look at the situation we have now in Iraq...plain clothes, average looking citizens are attacking troops, thus, innocent Iraqi civilians that move a little too suddenly are shot and killed. As was the case in Vietnam. That's the sad thing about Guerilla warfare, you can't tell who your enemy is.

I am pro public executions and torture. (RE: punishment for malvo).
But I don't think Saddam was a bad person... compared to WHO? If he killed people under his rule... then I think ALL US presidents would be an evil democratic ruler. I don't remember a span of 4 year without war.
Again, Truman isn't considered mass civilian genocidist like Hitler, because US won the war. If Hilter won the War... I'm sure we, as Germans, would think him the greatest ruler of all time.
Stalin killed more than 12 million civilians under his rule, but Stalin didn't really lose the war... so he's not considered such a heinous person in history.
All the Jew raving about the Holocaust at Hilter's hand... check out Stalin's holocaust of Russian Jews!!!
Either way, bottomline, Saddam is an idiot for losing his gloried nation to US. All he had to do was say, I love America... and here's discount oil for good Americans!!!! Hey we need Cellphone antennas... have Sprint and Verizon come to Iraq!!
All Saddam had to do was to please the awoken Giant US... then he would still have been in power and Iraqis and Americans could still triangulate on TERRORISTS.
TERRORIST.... who are SPONSORED BY SAUDI Arabians...
DUH.. BUsh!!! Osama is a Saudi... and 9 of 16 the airline hijackers were Saudis...
Hell, it's be REASONABLE to drop a couple of nukes on SAUDI ARABS... BUT... UNLIKE idiot SADDAM!!!! SAUDI... tell BUSH... we LOVE America... (while harboring Terrorists and financing them)... here's a contract to built PCS system in Saudi Arabia.... will sucking on the American penis, Saudi's are breeding terrorists. Bush doesn't know or care since, he's up for reelection... and as long as you're saying you love US... you can harbor and breed all the terrorists you'd like.... it looks better for the poll...

You are all stupid and WRONG!!! Here is my idea! So instead of going throught that long trail, we should just tie Saddam to a wall, and have every single Iraqi kick him in the balls. Face it, that man needs a good sack kicking! Maybe after they are done with him in Iraq, they can bring him over here to the states.
