The picture is a little yellow, so you can't really see it, but it's purple. It's an amethyst stone.

Purple, her favorite color, just so happens to be the color of her birthstone, so I figure amethyst was a good choice. There's a smaller moonstone above, which is blue when viewed from a select few angles.

What do you think?

Girls like gifts that show you know a lot about them. A girl who doesn't like rap isn't going to like a rap CD no matter how expensive it is, a girl who doesn't like to spend time on the computer won't like a computer game, no matter how many you get her, etc.

So, if your girl likes big pieces of jewelry like this, then I'm sure she'll love it. But if wearing stuff like that isn't her style, she isn't really going to be that excited about it, no matter how much money/effort you put into buying it.

Also, she'll probably dig that it's her birthstone. That was a nice touch.
