The Theme Song Request Thread

Welcome! This thread is a place where you can request your own theme song. Your theme song will be entitled your username's Theme or something similar. Note that the people responding to the requests will be submitting the tracks to Newgrounds' Audio Portal.

Newgrounds Audio Artists won't make you a theme for "free". If you are an artist, use it in your flashes and give the composer credits in your flash. If you are not an Flash Artist you could put a link in your Forum Signature recommending the composer who made your theme.

How to request a theme song:

If you are requesting a theme song give Newgrounds' audio artists some details of what you need:

1) Include in your requesting post the genre of music that you want your theme to be.

2) Specify what the theme will be used for and provide links to music/other material you want it to sound like. For example, you could provide YouTube links, DailyMotion links, a picture, or something from Newgrounds Audio Portal.

3) Specify if you want a loop or a real song. Also give an approximative length.

To the artists:

1) Make sure that you agree on a due date with the other party. If they say "take your time," that's cool, take your time. Though, if they need it by a certain date, make sure you get it done by that date! If you don't, it damages your reputation and you might not get asked to write any more themes.

2) If two or more artists want to complete the same request, just discuss over the PM system and see who could complete the request the best. But you are not forbidden to complete a request if somebody is already completing it.

3) Have fun!

Rules:

1) If someone makes you a theme song, don't upload it to Newgrounds! Only the original composer may. Doing otherwise would break the "no uploading songs you didn't make" rule.

2) Don't ask for a theme song if you don't need it and ask gently. Requesting post like that "LIEK ZOMG THEME SONG NAO!" will be ignored and the post may be deleted.

3) Provide all the information specified above. Doing so will give the composer more to work with, and therefore increase the overall quality of your theme song.

4) If one or several artist have replied to your request, try to keep your discussion over the PM system to avoid confusions.

5) This thread is like every other thread, so follow the BBS rules. Don't spam, insult people and don't say racist things... Just be mature.

Great idea man. I asked sonofkirk for a theme song a long time ago and he created a masterpiece. Of course I see it as a masterpiece because it's my theme song and everything. =P Ha, but yeah I will use this thread for sure in the future for flashes and everything. I know something that I will probably want to use it for in the near future. Anyway, if you guys want to see an example I asked for a heavy metal theme song and gave him a couple of details like I wanted a solo, a evil sound to it, etc.. It turned out very well.

Yeah, this thread is dedicated to theme songs so don't ask for a simple song for your flashes here, I'm going to create a new thread - if this one turns out well - a bit similar to this one but for general songs requests. It will avoid all these numerous threads.

Anyway, if you guys want to see an example I asked for a heavy metal theme song and gave him a couple of details like I wanted a solo, a evil sound to it, etc.. It turned out very well.

Ah yeah, I'm also pretty happy with this one. I'm making a theme for RohantheBarabarian and I hope I'll be able to finish it during Xmas holidays.

Also to everybody out there, don't fear and feel free to ask for your theme : ).

I asked him if he didn't mind if I posted here, he was cool with it. SO the final instrumental is up. The version for his flashes will have vocals, specific to his cartoon. :D

Ah nice, you were really fast with that theme, I'm still composing a theme for a friend and I started it months ago lol. It's maybe because you made a loop and not a full-length song. By the way, that instrumental kicks ass.

I would say yes since it's totally related to the thread. It also shows how the requests are coming along and people can keep track of the done and "not done" requests. It's one thing I forgot to add in the original post :(.

I didn't really mean simple things for flashes. I meant like if someone made a character in flash and wanted that character to have a theme song that they could use in the flash.

His name is Statwhore and we would love to have a theme song that is like this song, but of course replacing the words scat with stat and making everything else stat related also. It doesn't have to be very long, perhaps 1 minute.

Anyone interested in making this theme song?

I submitted a song for my friend who didn't want to make an account, but wanted to get his music out there. Me, not thinking of course, submitted it on my account and was banned for submitting some else's work.

For myself I'm working on a theme for RohantheBarbarian and I will probably finish it during the holidays. Then I'll have to work on Pigeonmaster's one, he wants something that sounds like the Guns 'n Roses :D.

Also I just finished RohantheBarbarian's Theme Song, I spent a lot of time on this one and I composed it differently of my other songs, it's more a concept. He requested this theme some months ago, just after I made Corky52's Theme and I'm submitting it today: it show that you can take your time with the requests.

Hey man, thanks again for doing this, it's brilliant! I've been looking forward to hearing it ever since you sent me that snippet of a preview a month or so ago I'm delighted it turned out so well. Hopefully this thread will be a smashing success as well.
