I think that George is a dumbass but it is still pretty cool that he dodged a shoe thrown at him. I mean if you were at a speech or something and somebody is talking the last thing you expect to happen is a shoe to be thrown. He must have some good reflexes.

Well, the guy who threw the shoe at him caught his attention when he said something so he had time to react. He could've had a boot to the head y'know.

Actually, they're treating him like a hero. As other users have pointed out, its a huge insult to show the soles of your shoes to someone. As is touching someone with your right arm. In their culture, he just fucking pwned Bush.
