You know I usually hate quotes, but this one is best damn statement I have ever heard. When bush is accused of breaking "international law" by blocking Fr, Ru, Ger, and Can from getting contracts in Iraq he says :
"International law? I better call my lawyer; he didn't bring that up to me,"

I think that is one of his better quotes, only beaten by the french/entrepeneur one.

Can you maybe give us some reasons why George W. Bush is "awesome"? I really don't understand the attraction people have to this man.

Ok. some People said that now that you americans have saddam, the violence will stop.
let me elaborate:
1.) Bush himself said that's not gonna happen.
2.) Iraqis may have hated Saddam, but they also hated the american invasion. Question is who they hate more now. (and Saddam didn't make them live without food or water or electricity in makeshift shelters. at least with Hussein it was quick and painless, in comparison.)

Actually... i believe he said something like that once... I can't recall just what it said, but i believe it stated that once Saddam was taken, all problems would be solved.

You can see them playing it safe this time. Remember the aircraft carrier, they were all gloating about the end of the war, then - bam! tons more casualties.
The administration is playing it cautious this time around

Well, tons by our standards. We completely destroyed the Iraqi military, and considering what was accomplished, there were fewer casualties than in the first gulf war, considering in that conflict they didn't take over the entire country. Militarily, the US is in control, and little roadside bombs will do nothing, but the public can't stand any soldiers dying, ever. It's exactly what the rebels are hoping for.
It's kind of ironic when you think about it, that soldier deaths would be viewed as so horrible moreso than other deaths, especially since they signed up and took the risk in the first place.

a) HE invaded Afghanistan and overthrew the Taliban.
b)He invaded Irag overthrew The Ba'at party.
c)He brilliantly ignored the UN before Iraq(as I have stated before - we are the most powerfull country in the world, and EVERYONE else had better live with it).
d)He odes EXACTLY what he stated he would do(as opposed to continously changing his point of view/political stance) /* utters a cough that sounds remarkably like "Clinton"*/
e) he cut the taxes
f) he is against gay marriage, and will veto any Senate bill that tries to legalize it.
Reasons to not like him:
a)He did not do anything against medicare.(If he did this he would lose thousands of voters, and there would be mas riots)
b)He did not do anything against Affirmative action(if he did this, there would be massive BLACK riots, which is even wors /* coughs - "Georgetown*/. For those of you who don't know, the first thing black people in the DC area did when America was desegregated, was go on riot and burn Georgetown.)
c) He is not invading Syria/ N. Korea/ Iran/ Lebanon/ Jordan/all other shit countries/ Liberal Land(did I just say that aloud)???(If he did this, He would completely lose the rest of the world, possibly even England, and he would lose the "less radical right wing").
As there are good reasons for everything he's doing wrong....Do u get why now???

Yes, that's also how I feel about police. Why are people sentenced much more harshly when they kill a cop than if they just killed someone completely random?

not exactly true -- this goes for most politicians
e) he cut the taxes
which ones???
f) he is against gay marriage, and will veto any Senate bill that tries to legalize it.
This I agree with.

You might want to change that to is in the process of overthrowing the Taliban. If the Taliban's been overthrown, what are US troops still doing in the country?
b)He invaded Irag overthrew The Ba'at party.
It's Iraq, actually, but anybody could have made that mistake. Again, if the Iraq situation is all wrapped up, then why are US troops being shot at and killed by the hundreds over there?
c)He brilliantly ignored the UN before Iraq(as I have stated before - we are the most powerfull country in the world, and EVERYONE else had better live with it).
You seriously still think that's brilliant? Even the most pro-war hawks should be able to see how right the UN was to postpone the invasion until the inspectors finished their work, especially since nothing slightly resembling nuclear weapons has been found yet.
d)He odes EXACTLY what he stated he would do(as opposed to continously changing his point of view/political stance) /* utters a cough that sounds remarkably like "Clinton"*/
Like when he said during the 2000 debates "I don't think America should be going around telling other countries 'This is the way it's got to be' then went out and told other countries this is the way it's got to be?
e) he cut the taxes
Yeah. And the economy has improved SO much because of it.
f) he is against gay marriage, and will veto any Senate bill that tries to legalize it.
Forty years from now, we're going to look back on Gay Rights the way we look at Civil Rights today. They way we think about racism now is the way we're going to think about homophobia.

You damn right Stone. When this country became the world power we made a promise to the world that we would be its police and right as many wrongs as we can. Saddam was obviously a wrong so thats one down. More to go. All George is doing is making this country live up to the reputation it set for itself.

I can answer that for you. They are there doing this thing called double checking. Making sure we didnt miss anything. When the leader was in a tiny hole in his OWN town we tend to be a lot more picky about when to leave and when these are finished.
On top of that, if we suddenly leave with a new government astablished and the taliban gone, what in the hell would defend the country?

My god some of the things you people believe are hilarious! Do any of you seriously think Bush is a good president? He "liberated" two midleastern countries that just happened to have oil and not like him. Our relationship with the UN and other countries is destroyed. The goverment has a huge debt. Not to mention all sorts of shady goverment dealings (transfering funds from all sorts of stuff to weapons research, Misinforming the media etc.) And of course one seriously fucking big coverup over what the CIA did or did not know about terrorist attacks on sept. 11.
So my little braindead monkeys. Still support Bush?

The economy would have been shitty either way. The tech-bubble bursted, there was(is) a bunch of corporate fraud, and 9/11 sure didnt help.
The tax cuts have helped a bit. But the Feds cutting rates have helped as well. And also, as im sure some of you would love to beleive, the tax cuts were not only for the rich. And no, im not going to sit and site a bunch of sources, just trust me on this one.
Anyways, just a 2 cents post I guess. Its not really aimed directly at you.

Riots can be stopped, and the villans cuasing them detained and taken off the streets. I like George Bush, but I don't get his stand on gay marrgiges. I'm a christian, but he states his reason for being against it becuase he says it's against his "religion or morals". Doesn't the constitution say to seperate church and state? Don't they have a right to do whatever they want and have the same rights as everyone else does? I mean heck, nazi's have more rights in America than gays. lol

Yes, Bush is so "awesome" that when he went to Bagdhad for a photo op, the plane turned off its landing lights and had the blinds pulled down to avoid being spotted and used as target practice - as reported on NBC. Until a couple of hours later, when it was rephrased that Bush wasn't sneaking into ANOTHER country where he isn't wanted and/or needed in a chickenshit manner to serve fake plastic turkey.
Propaganda is to a Democracy what violence is to a Dictatorship
Never underestimate the significance of "significant."
