A program to help you plan projects

Yo all. Just thought i'd pass this message on for this program called Celtx, it's a program to help you with writing scripts, scenes, storyboards & everything else to do with writing texts. It's ideal for flash movies, I bet you'd find it useful for helping you get down your ideas.

I'm using it right now for a game for example; and it's helpful. I'm acting as if the game is a movie, and writing it in scene format with the scenarios of the game as scenes of a film. It has an area where you write up character bios, scene information and so on. You can also operate as if writing for a comic book, an audio file, a film, a stage play and more.

It is helping me turn my idea from a vision in my mind to a clear plan... and churns on ideas too by asking you to describe characters you write about, or specific's about scenes etc. It would definetly help you if you were in the writing/thinking process of a flash movie. Even if you aint done it before give it a go n it'll help.

So yeah check it out. It'll help you if you have trouble capitulating your ideas. It's free by the way. Adam Phillips' recommended it on his blog which is how I discovered it.

umm is all this does is coordinate everything...(you can do the exact same thing with notepad (or pages for mac users) this really doesn't look very special at all (and its not free....?)

Nah. It's not just a notepad or a word document or whatever. It's basically templates for entering info and having it layed out in the correct style . It's aimed at script writers, story board artists, and everyone else in the backroom staff behind a film; but also for other areas of media, like scripted audio, comic artists and so on.

I went to college for the last two years and was told to write storyboards, scripts, shooting schedules, character biographies and so on. and it all felt like a load of garbage and alot of effort. Well it's not a load of rubbish, and this removes the effort you put into it, plus makes it fun & thought provoking through it's process.

Think... like if you were told to make a presentation, and used Powerpoint as a quick and easy way rather than hand-writing it all, creating slides, collecting pictures and so on. Well it does what-powerpoint-does-for-presentations, for creating ideas. Makes things simple. Like Powerpoint... but more credible & less mummy-cuddling..

It is free, I was just joking with the hidden text bit.
