Does this character look good?

I'm going to start animating something soon and I want to know how good this character looks for you in terns of claymation. I like everything except the way I painted the eyes.

it's hard to size the characters up. What I did was took measurements of my own arms, body head etc. Then I figured out how tall my character is and got some percentages. I wanted her to be about 9 inches tall so I take the height and times it by a percentage to get the length it should be. hahaha

it's not that bad and definitely better than a lot of claymation on ng. however, i think what makes claymation great is it's stylized overly cartoony look which your character lacks.

Well the key to failure is trying to please everyone. I do appreciate your feedback though. I'll keep this in mind for one of my future shorts.

Yay claymation! The character looks fine... to me the important part is the smoothness of the animation anyway.

Maybe define the...I hate to put it this way...boob region and chest more? It's hard to tell whether it's a boy or a girl with the long hair and slight definition in the torso.

You really need to sculpt the body with more detail in mind.

Remember that females tend to have larger hips and thighs, while men tend to have broader shoulders and a wider torso.

thanks for the link. I also like how you outlined the body like that. I will probably actually use that as a tool when I'm sculpting a body and want to see if it looks good. So for the next video more tits and ass, just for you Newgrounds.

It's not to bad, pretty good sculpture as it is, you just need to get it more like the female anatomy.

here's the boy character i'll be done with later tonight. I still have to add eyes, feet, hair, etc. The face details are hard. In the picture you can slightly see that he is going to have puffy, chubby cheeks that pop out. i'm then going to rub a little bit of clay on the cheeks to give it a redish tint. Wish me luck.

Yes that would be nice. Chicken Run was a big inspiration in my life. I never really saw Wallace and Gromit until I was older. I actually want to go to Falmouth university for their animation program and to work for aardman.

oh yeah it takes shit tons of patience. They have a lot of little mess ups though. After you've been animating for a long time you notice all the little things. Wallace for example if you watch his face when they're animating him the top of his head will change a lot. His torso will never change though because it's made out of hard clay. They do a really good job over all though.

Robot Chicken messes up way too much though. It looks like a kid animated it sometimes. For example a character will be standing next to something, and you will keep seeing the object next to them move. I really hate being able to see all of those little mistakes sometimes.
