One of the guys at work sometimes calls me by my username. If it were a total stranger doing it, I'd probably run.

i use this name for pretty much everything i do on the internet so it's not just my ng username though

To adress the topic, yes I would. But thats hardly ever goig to happen since I don't poast pics of myself
and everyone I know ignores me when I start talking about NG.

I'm more likely to respond if someone calls me Ian Antipathy because It's my pen name, but I will probably respond to Sephy too.

I would definitely turn around. Just saying Mike is pretty normal, though saying 'Mw' at the start would be pretty strange, so I would be pretty sure that it's directed at me.

Since my username is something that can be taken as an insult I would get a little upset.

Its not every day that someone says, "LOL" in real life. I would probably be mystified by them and look.

Yeah, I'd turn around. Sometimes I bump into Montreal NGers and I don't know their real names, so I call them by their alias as well.

If someone yelled out "SoulMaster71!" in real life, I'd probably turn around. After all, it's not the most common name, and of all the people I know I'm the only one to which it could potentially apply.
