Complete rip off from your game......the gameplay is almost the same. (including difficulty setting)
The only differences are the graphic and the game platform (PC v.s. iPhone/iPod)
I remember your game nodes, it was cool.
Well, let me think, if I was small commercial game developers position, I would come STRAIGHT to Newgrounds for my inspiration.
You most likely did get ripped off. Perhaps if you send them an angry letter they'll give you some money!
lol tell then you'll sue if you don't recieve 70% of the profits

Ive seen this type of game in numerous game titles
Send an email to Apple. Just because they suck. (It's unlikely that you'll get anything.)
You can't sue
You don't own the idea
You can't prove they stole your idea and even if you could there's no rule saying you can't copy a game idea

Ditto. And considering Emanuele wrote a guide on how to make your game, its easy enough to build a carbon copy of it. The idea isn't patentable (I'm not sure you can patent a game's goalof lining two sets of objects objects so that the lines connecting set A intersect all items in set B, only the actual mechanicsbehind it), and so there's no legal procedure you could undertake even if your patent was pending.
Maybe you could just feel a warm fuzzy feeling that you helped inspire someone to make a game instead?
...
Your game is also a rip off. How many law suits have you received?
You can solve pretty much any problem you may have with AS3 by consulting the AS3 Language reference.

Yeah but even games like tower defence for example where people rip em off. They at least change a few things around and the graphics. Theres nothing different in this copy AT ALL cept a slight upgrade on the graphics.
Your game is also a rip off. How many law suits have you received?
Like what?
Anyways I know I can't do anything about it at all but oh well. Still is annoying.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Your game was good enough for iPod, so go join their team and make another one. And while you're there, you can gather intelligence on the others and when you find out who stole your idea, you can tie them up and throw them in the dungeon.

If I were you I'd sue them. For real, they are stealing money that should be yours!

But then look at things like Minesweeper. Or video poker. Or even the granddaddy cash cow of all casual games - Bejeweled / Match Three. Countless clones of those exist which are all literally reskins and recodes. Unless you have a solid iron clad patent on these things, people can and will copy your idea to make a quick buck.
Shirk's got the best idea. If your game's gonna go viral, pre-empt everyone who's going to steal your idea and make a monopoly over every market. Here's hoping your next game is just as successful to get imitators, and that you beat them to the punch and make a mint.
...
OR rewrite your game and release it for ipod and take all there money!
Grah i feel so unknown, SK8MORE god damn :/ EvanHayes seems like a much more serious name than sk8more,so i changed it.
Look up the iPhone game "Trace" if you have time. Draw-Play has also been... dun dun dun COMPROMISED!
But yeah, there will be similar games even on different platforms. Gameplay cannot be patented but gameplay elements and specifics can, but it's not worth the years of trouble.
And you never know the intention of these authors. They might have genuinely come up with the idea on their own and weren't looking to copy you.
Hi there!

Yeah I saw trace as well :S was also a little annoyed, but at least trace he changed it around a bit more.
Well the author of it emailed me back and said no he didn't copy it. "but does see some similiarties between out games" ;/ Oh well maybe it was a coincidence unless hes lying. He also didn't make that much monye off it, so I guess I can't be too mean about it lol.
Also I found funny. He saw Nodes 2 and said the curved lines were a great idea and asked me if he could use that idea in the future laser puzzle sequel....go figure.
Hmm, yeah, I understand that this is annoying. Send them a message, and praise them for the great and original idea, just to see how they react :P
By the way, there are e.g. loads of Tetris remakes on Newgrounds, and remakes of other games too ;(

REAAAAAALLY?
Where?! I don't see any! Someone help me out here!
What a douche XP
it looks like ur game but the graphics r a bit different but still it is a copy of yiur game and u sghould SUE the bastards!
You should be proud they saw it worth to develop into a commercial game.

This guy is so true
It's not like you're the only one with this idea

If I were you I would be soooo pissed off I would feel like smashing my fist on the keyboard.
Send them 1 angry letter.... then 10... then 100... until they give you sum muneez

Yeah, but they should commercially pay him for it ;3.
Still I enjoyed playing the game nodes, and the fact that apple basically stole the idea of it is mega lame.
I would be pretty proud. Send them an email, see if they'll admit to it. They could have genuinely had the idea of course, but that isn't so probable.
I would feel ambivalent - angry that I wasnt getting my dues, but proud that my idea was worth the mass market. Theres not much more you can do about it that that...
Its annoying but I guess thats just the nature of the industry.
How many people have remade breakout/tetris/spave invaders with thier own graphics? Atari doesnt get a royalty everytime someones releases a remake of one of thier games!
I guess if you have a good idea for a game just go and make it. Sure people might copy you but at least you can be safe in the knowledge that its youre idea and other people thought it was good enough to copy.
Besides, imitation is the greatest form of flattery :)
