So, i made a video on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2saCKHy kMM) asking people to draw me a picture, or write a song, for Ranka Sasani, my vocaloid character. I still need both, but i was hoping some one on here could help me by making an audio to go along with this song:
Picking flowers with my father
I heard a robot singing a song
Laughing and playing then
Got deathly ill one day.
Father gets offered money
By rich man
To make a robot
She will be able to live
Forever, forever
And sing beautifully
Forever, forever.
Aaaahhhhhhhhhhh
AaaaaAAAAaaaaahhhh
Father working hard
Co-worker makes a robot
A robot that looks just like me.
They train "Ranka" for a long while
To be a great singer
"Ranka" sings for rich man
"Ranka" paid for singing
"Ranka" refuses the money
She only sang for love and not for money.
Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh
AaaaaaaAAAaaaaahhhh
Father passed away
"Ranka" heard the robot singing a song
"Ranka" left to find her
"Ranka finds the robot
Named "Hatsune Miku".
Both of them vocaloids
They became friends.

Is there a key, or what genre are you looking for. Gotta be a tad more specific. We aren't magicians. XD

Um. It takes time & effort to make good music. As someone said, the musicians aren't magicians. They need more descriptions to work with, timing, requirements, and maybe more incentive.
(...personally, I have a bone to pick with vocaloids. They do even more damage than auto-tuners do to the value of actual vocalists. Just sayin'.)

Haha. I second Lira's statement on Vocaloids. There are a lot of n00bs out there who don't know how to use the program properly and make horrible vocals with them. Kind of like FL n00bs. :P
I've heard some really good Vocaloid renditions though. Too bad I can't do those yet..........................
On the contrary, I do have Vocaloid. :3 Although in English. >_>;

I hate to sound elitist, but seriously...singing is the most primitive way to make music. It's an art that's been refined and perfected over eons of human evolution. Kind of makes me rage to see it replaced by a shitty synth program.
And I won't even start with auto tuners e-e

I beg to differ. Vocaloid 1 was rather shitty since it was so new and they hadn't done any good job with it.
With the release of Vocaloid 2, the quality is much better. And it's not shitty technology anymore. If you want to hear a sample of what I mean by quality Vocaloid vocals, just PM me and I'll email you a sample.
But the base line is that in the new one, if it's done well you can't tell the difference between a Vocaloid and an actual singer.
Of course, if you're a shitty program user, then it'll sound equally shitty. But that goes for any program. FL, Reason, Cubase all included.

This is the exact problem with Vocaloid. Is it really so difficult to learn how to sing that you have to make a computer do it for you?
PS - I call bullshit. No matter how well you refine the synth, it's not going to match a live singer

People take years to perfect their singing. Unless you're a natural at singing, by which you should go sing to your heart's content if you can.
The quality on this one is rather amazing.
And also Vocaloid's versatile. As proven by this video.
Of course they aren't perfect, but they sure as hell sound better than some professional singers out there.

Well, some professional singers out there are marketed for mainstream appeal, sexpot factor, etc etc. But I digress.
The first sample didn't impress me-- sounds like pretty synthy standard Vocaloid to me. But the second link was stunning-- first time I've heard it used in a classical-voice context. Still notably synthy, but impressive. A bit scary, too.
I think what sets real vocalists apart, though, is that we're not always perfect or consistent. There are some little nuances that synthesizers can't yet capture. When that day comes, THEN I'm going to throw in the towel, but if good pitch is the only thing that made singers good, we'd long since have been owned by synthesizers. A criticism of my singing that I get sometimes is that my technique and pitch are good, but I can sound emotionless at times.
mebbeh I'm a synthesizer. DDD:
Anyway, we derailed this thread, but this is a useful discussion. Maybe we oughta quote these posts and start another thread. D:

Agreed Lira. So far, I still think if you can get a real singer... get a real singer rather than a Vocaloid. But for us peeps who are vocally talentless... Vocaloids a darn good thing. XD
Like me.... vocally... talentless. T_T

The story so far:
OP's lyrics are creepy and bad, real singers don't like vocaloids because they suck, although they don't suck as much as said singers originally thought so they also make real singers depressed.
More as developments come in
