ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS? That is BY FAR the most epic one in existence.
Ah classic Batman. I really like how in a lot of the old comics you can find instances of perfectly innocent sounding stuff that became taboo or meaning something else later. Like that whole story (which was reprinted in The Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told) was (if I recall right) about a screw up Joker made during a crime, and they laughed at him, so as evidenced in that panel, Joker vows to INTENTIONALLY screw up his crimes, pulling "boners" as it were. Cause back in the day boner simply meant screw up or fuck up. I chuckled at it when I first read it...then just started scratching my head at how the hell these writers and editors came up with some of these plots.
I mean, Batman and Robin were accused of being a homosexual couple in the 50's. So to fix this DC introduces Batwoman and the original Batgirl to act as girlfriends for them. Great idea right? So obviously they're going to have Batman and Robin kissing these women on panel, and identifying them as their girlfriends right? No...they spend all their time trying to avoid them...I'm serious...so once again...WHO THE HELL THOUGHT THESE WERE GOOD IDEAS?!
