So what exactly was the purpose of an SS squad man? He looks like a clown if you ask me.

I admit it was the cherry on top of perhaps the most easily justified world war ever...
When your enemy has death camps, tiny mustaches, and black uniforms they are practically asking to be the future definition of textbook evil...

I think Nazi uniforms have influenced the military science fiction genre more than any other.

Of course they were. When the Nazis needed supplies, they went down the block because they were at home. The Allied troops crossed an ocean to do battle so they needed to bring all their supplies with them.

Did you know that Hugo Boss designed the uniforms? Make no wonder they looked so good.

Funny you should mention his fashion sense. Did you know that he purposely had his henchmen (Rommel, Goering, Donitz etc.) dressed up in grand uniforms with jewelry and gold and whatnot, whilst he dressed in plain looking grey suits? Very affective at giving an image of a down-to-earth leader. Just juxtapose Goering's suits with Hitler's, you'll see what I mean.
my opinion = fact

Before Hitler ruined it, the swastika was a symbol of good luck and you would see it rampantly represent that before WW2.

The colors of the black, red, and white flag just clash in a manner that screams, "HELLO WORLD, I'LL HAVE YOU FOR BREAKFAST!"
Though I strongly dislike the actions of the Nazis, I have to admit... they had some kickass uniforms.

Yeah, the Allies' uniforms were pretty bland, made them look more like tired and battered soldiers. The Nazi uniforms on the other hand were impressive. I'd be more intimidated seeing one SS Sentry standing just like in that pic and looking at me than by 10 allied soldiers marching towards me.
I want one of those

The purpose of an SS Sentry is to obliterate any enemy that dares cross in his line of sight. The SS Sentry is trained to be a killing machine, to be one with his weapon, to be a ruthless and cunning warrior that stops for nothing and noone. Only the best of the best, the elite, the most unscrupulous and experienced killers have the opportunity to join the ranks of the SS, the Schutzstaffel. The goal of an SS Sentry is to fight and eliminate its enemy, even if it requires the sacrifice of his own life, and to protect the Fuhrer anywhere, anytime and at any cost.
