Yeah, you'll also be able to register earlier so we won't have to rush around picking classes that start early since everything you wanted was full.

Ha, don't kid. I wouldn't know where, when, how, or what if she didn't organize me.

That's very true. I'd really hate to see what you would do without me doing all that for you.

Very true. I didn't think about that. I forgot since I will be a Junior this upcoming year that I get to make my class picks before the freshman and sophomores. That'll be nice since I basically get the first pick since the seniors all have the same schedule and everything. Hopefully we can at least plan two days where I don't have to wake up early.

That's very true. I'd really hate to see what you would do without me doing all that for you.

I'd do it. It would just be done the night before like I do for most of my things.

Anyway, I had my first exam today. I received an 88% on it. I liked that he gave us the test part back (not the part with the answers) so we could check what grade that we had. That's right around where I want my grade in the class to be since I think that will probably be my hardest or second hardest class this semester.

Finally got my results back from my first semester, and found that all my worries (particularly with regard to my Biology module) were for nothing. Turns out I managed an A in all of them, and have a QCA of 4.0. I was so shocked I actually checked the website again a few hours later to make sure there hadn't been an error when the results were uploaded.

I'm finally back this Monday, and I'm hoping I'll be able to do as well this semester as I did last semester.

Exams already? What week of school is it for you?

Usually it was the other way for me. Typically, I'd find every possible way to not get an A even in the easiest of classes.

Anyways, has anybody taken the GRE or the GMAT? What is it like and how do you go about taking it. I still want to go to Grad school, eventually, so I might as well look into it.

Only my second week. Perhaps I used the term exam too broadly here since all of the teachers call tests exams. There isn't a test exactly. So we have quizzes and exams cover everything that would be considered a test and up.

I do have several quizzes Monday though so tonight and tomorrow are going to consist of some studying. I need to start off on the right track.

The BEST thing about my uni is the quiz machine in the corner of the SU bar. most of the time I'll be able to win a little bit of money off of it, which means that I can then go buy DRINKS.

Won £4 today, which is a good 2 drinks. Not much really, but if I win a little bit every time, it soon adds up.

Like I say, best thing ever.

Ha, it reminds me of Wednesday night Bingo night at my favorite bar, when I was in school. You can win four free beers among other random crap prizes.

The best thing I won was a three foot inflatable monkey and the worst was four cans of SPAM.

Good times.

I recently moved the room around and cleaned it up a little. It seems to get extremely messy very quickly. (And when I say cleaned the room I mean my girlfriend cleaned the room)

I like it though. We moved the futon closer to the TV so we can play PS3 more conveniently while still having the PS2 controllers reach the futon. We moved the bunk bed from the middle of the room against one of the wall so we have a large open space when we walk in now.

I'm thinking that I want to invest in some bed risers so I can stick my desk and other things under my bed. Perhaps the futon under the bed or something. That and we need some sort of rug for people to wipe their feet on. I'm sick of having to clean the mud/water off of the floor every time I walk into the room.

I was almost upset that we didn't have a cancellation of class today because of the wheather. We did manage to get a 2 hour delay, which shortens all of our classes. I kept having this nasty dream that I checked the computer again and it said school was closed, but I would then open my eyes for a slipt second and notice that I was still in bed.

It isn't too bad though since two out of four of my classes canceled their class already today. :P There was even a quiz I had no clue about that got moved back to another day. There is still a lot of time so I might get my later class canceled too, but just two classes doesn't bother me that much.

Ouch. I can't imagine having to wake up that early to go to class. It almost makes me not feel so bad about having to get up around 6:30. Was the weather bad where you lived?

It wasn't the best where I live, but it was manageable. A lot of slush on the roads and things like that, but I've went to class in worse weather.

they never cancel classes in a big city like Boston (where i live), and this morning i took my Journalism and Creative Writing final, which took me from 6:30 AM to noon, becuae i had to write like 5 essays in a different writing style for CW, and then in Journalism, they gave us little snipets of information about something and we had to write an article about it, which took a while to even find out what the snipets were about.

Apparently they rarely cancel class where I go too. (Lock Haven) They do use 2 hour delays quite a bit though. My one teacher was talking about it today and they said the reason behind this is because the college loses money when they cancel class, but if they use a 2 hour delay they still get the money and most of the teachers cancel their classes anyway.

Yeah, I know how hard tests like that can be. But finals already? The semester just started for me. I couldn't imagine having finals already. Did you start earlier?

``````````
This weekend was the first weekend that I went home so far this year. I have to teach my girlfriends sister a math class because she is home schooled. This is great practice for my teaching at a school.
The good thing is that it counts towards hours of my observation that I have to do. I can count it up to 20 out of the 80 hours that I have to complete.
Well, they're turning off the water in my halls tomorrow(today) between 9am and 4pm, because that's the most convenient time for us to have NO WATER WHATSOEVER.
I plan to get around this lack of water by still being up now, at 6am.
Yeah, they did that to us a couple of times in my old dorm. They would just shut all of the power off so we wouldn't have anything for awhile. So of course the toilets work, but only for one time and nothing else is going to work.
I remember when my entire town was in a drought warning and if we ran out of water they were going to have us go back home for the semester and they would have to pass everyone just to be fair and everything. Every time I went to the bathroom you better believe people had sinks and showers turned on without anyone using them.
You get to chose your dorms, and there's nothing stopping you getting your own privately rented accomodation, (which the vast majority of people do in 2nd and 3rd year anyway), but I wouldn't trade these halls for the world. It's great fun, gets you immersed and settled into student life a lot better than if you were in regular flats, and is good times.
that doesnt sound so bad actually, in dorms, do u have a roommate? and if you do, can you pick who you want as a roommate, or do they give you one?
I have five flatmates (two other guys, three girls, so a 50/50 split). We all have en-suites, and share a kitchen. (In some dorms though, you don't get en-suite bathrooms, depends what ones you go for).
And you get no choice about who you're in a flat with other than what block of flats or whatever you're in.
Yeah.
Even if you don't though, you don't have to interact with them. Mine are nice enough, but I spend most of my time with my course-mates, and I've already signed a contract for a flat for next year with three of my friends from the course, and they've all done the same. I also have friends who've signed flats next year with their current flatmates......
s'all luck.
I'm in the same Uni as a couple of my old school friends, but I barely talk to them, only if I bump into them. They certainly didn't even begin to factor into my decision when choosing my uni.
Hey why don't you come on over here to Lock Haven with some of your other friends? Ha, well just because we met before doesn't mean we're friends, but you know what I mean. My roommate was also at the computer fair where we met.
So yeah, I went to college with my friend last year and we ended up not liking each other anymore. I then roomed with another friend from school, but he dropped out of college. I'm now a roommate with a third friend from college and so far everything's been great.
There's a bunch of kids at my college that I went to high school with. I just don't see many of them too much.
I graduated from a small High School so there was few people that I knew that I went to college with but I did see them around from time to time. Typically, you tend to hang out more with people who you share the same major/classes or extra curricular activities (Frats, clubs, etc) with.
Yeah, that raises another question. There are a lot of times where I don't really feel these guys are my friends, it's more like I just hang out with them because we've known each other for so long and I don't have anybody else to hang out with... I'm doubting that this could happen again in college, but is there any way to truly avoid it? I'm already trying to be active in a number of different activities and stuff like that, but I've tried the same thing in high school and it always ends up the same way... Ending up hanging out with them again...
