Thinking about joining the Air Force after my bachelor's degree. Or just being a pussy face and joining after my associate's.

Problem with my college is that they have no idea how to create a social aspect. Literally the only thing anyone seems to do is sit around and do nothing, in public. No parties since alcohol has been banned, and whenever they throw a party no one shows up because there's no alcohol. I'm not saying that's what's needed, I'm just pissed that I'm not having the typical college experience.
And when your friends text you about how much emotionless sex and hangovers they've had (in the double digits, within months), it gets a little depressing. Let's face it, those are the two main reasons people go to college.

So I'm hating it here, and I'm curious as to what to do, or if there's anyone else out there with the same problem.

The toilet paper sucks.

Buy your own toilet paper and hide it from everyone else.

I think I did well in my exams. I was eavesdropping on some people with friends today, talking about what they wrote for the genetics exam. I had to stifle my laughter at how poor (in both depth and accuracy) their answers had been, on account of not looking odd, and also because they seemed like fairly nice people and I wish them all the best. I did lots better than them though. Aaand fuck it, post.

In my school we pay so many thousands of green and yet they can't seem to know how to cook good food that doesn't give you diarrhea.

I'm kind of in the same boat, but this week instead.

All I pretty much have left is finance/economics shit, which is more tedious than anything, though.

Had my last exams ever last week, all went really well.

Now I've got 2 weeks to write my 8000 word dissertation on the experiment that was supposed to be finished 2 months ago that will hopefully ACTUALLY be finished by next weekend.

I am so sick of education. Want this shit done with.

I was feeling the same way. Friday was my last proper day of university, so I've almost been finished for a week. It's weird because I still don't feel as thought I've finished. I still haven't started job hunting although I probably should be. Feels like I should be entitled to a small break, considering how busy I've felt the past few months. It's not like I'm spending the time sitting around doing nothing either. I've actually been trying to put together a few personal projects that I can use to build up a sort of portfolio.

Can't sit around doing this forever though. I'll have to start looking for jobs pretty soon. Hopefully I'll get to applying for software developer jobs in Edinburgh, get offered one, move to Edinburgh and then start the job. That's the dream anyway.

Knocked out 4000 words of dissertation in two days. Think I'm going to have to trim back some of it or I'm going to go past the word limit. This is much more painless than I'd anticipated.

It's funny that I hated high school with a fucking passion, but I love college so damn much.

It's pretty much: "Even though you're a student, we are going to treat you like a real person, unlike every type of schooling before this, welcome to the real world."

That basically sums it up. I don't mind going home for the holidays, though, it's nice to have a chance to catch up with friends that stayed home or went to different schools instead.

Seems like mostly everyone in this topic is graduating from college or leaving pretty soon. Oh well, here goes:

I'm attending college this fall, with a planned major in Accounting.

I'm starting out too. Television Broadcasting. After two years of that I'll expand into a graduate program.

I'm thinking after earning my bachs, I'll got for my masters. Since the CPA requires 150 credit hours and the bach degree requires 123, I need the hours if I can't find an internship.

Why do you want to do Television Broadcasting?

Gives me the best chance of getting into VFX & Editing or Advanced Filmmaking, which are programs I'm actually interested in. TV Broadcasting sounds like it might be boring, but I've heard good things about it. Mainly that it's easy to get A's in and it can actually be fun.

So I had an open book exam today with so many questions that I could barely finish half of them within the 3 hours time limit. I've had fairly elaborate exams before, but this one takes the cake.

Oh well. One more exam until my 1st MSc year is finally over. I gotta say, it's all been a lot tougher than I expected it to be.

Yeah I agree. I noticed there's a lot more emphasis on actually understanding course material rather than just knowing how to solve problems. Also, course material is a lot more elaborate and detailed now.

So yeah, it's definitely a step up from Bachelor level. I believe I'm still doing okay though, compared to how my fellow students fare.

I got my schedule and I don't think I like it too much. Two 8AMs? I guess it could be worse. I don't like all these two hour breaks between classes though. I'll have to go home and right back an hour later.

My schedule is alright, I'm done with my classes around 2, and I start around 10, 9, or 8 AM depending on the day.

I do prefer to get everything done back to back though, so when I get back home, I'm done.

I guess I'll bump the thread, since we're getting closer to going back, depending on where you live.

My first day of class is next monday, and I'll be moving back in the dorm on Saturday. I'm rooming with a friend of mine, and he went ahead and moved in today, so he could help someone else move in tomorrow. Minus the going to class part, I'm looking forward to going back. The dorm room shenanigans are always great.

I don't start until September 3. Tomorrow is my last day at home, then I'm moving out permanently. Not living in a dorm, me and a friend found a decent apartment for much cheaper than residence. He's moving in Saturday, I'm moving in Sunday. I have so many mixed feelings about the whole thing.
