You feel that way now, but this is all important shit dude. Undergraduate degrees require that you have at least a basic knowledge of the surrounding disciplines; whether you ultimately decide to use that knowledge or not is up to you. I had to take two philosophy modules in my final year, and I'm glad I did because it actually helped a lot with my dissertation.

Besides, it's never a bad thing to know about stuff like the history of logic (arguably the most significant aspect of human thought, ever).

Oh damn I didn't know you went there that's like 15 minutes from my house, a lot of my people from my school are there now.

Anyway freshers week is wrapping up now and this is my first time on a computer since last sunday, I think the hardest thing to do was fill my time during the day because we haven't started proper lectures yet. Everyone I've met has been really nice so far but I think after a few weeks that'll change. I should have more to say but I'm so fucking tired I can't even think straight right now.

HvZ started yesterday at my campus, and so far, it looks like the humans are gonna be just fine. I'm actually heading out in a few minutes for the first mission at some of the dorms. First time these two buildings aren't safe zones, so this should be interesting. Don't let me down now, N-strike...

My college has a dream board on campus that gets erased every two weeks. I made my contribution to it recently.

First week and I already have a 7 hour observatory session on tuesday. I don't even. At least tomorrow I only have one lecture from 11-1.

Mind if I join?

I'm in a middle college program at Eastern Michigan University, so I basically just have to finish required high-school classes, the I get 60 free credits to play with any class that any other college freshman would have access to. Right now, the incoming class (me included) is basically taking classes that count for highschool credit but are more college level (no late-work, very high standards, etc.) By next year though, I should be a full-time college student. $30,000 of education fo' free :3

Went to my first college hockey game today. They played a team from Canada in an exhibition match and managed to win by a score of 4-1. Going to the game was a lot of fun since the kids around here have all sorts of chants and cheers that they do at every game and the fact that my school is ranked #2 in the nation as far as college hockey teams go.

I hope I can go to a lot more games! They're free for me as a student.

My friends and I pitched in for some pizza and we're eating while watching tv in our dorm. I love just having relaxing times like these. Anyone else prefer this kind of event over partying?

7 hour what? That doesn't sound fun at all.
My longest lecture is only an hour and twenty minutes. :)

Observatory session, we go to the University of London Observatory and look at pretty stars. Although it's showing on my timetable as 7 hours, I think it might be 2 seperate groups doing 3 and a half hours each.

Seems like it might be quite fun. Can't even think of the last time that I went to watch a sporting event but I generally think that the sports in the UK aren't as exciting as the sports that you get in the US.

Depends what you mean by partying. If I have the money I quite like going out to the pub but I'm not so much a fan of night clubs and all that sort of stuff. House parties can be alright depending on who's they are and the kind of people going.

Honestly, this is usually a perfect evening for me, hanging out in the dorm room with a few good friends. I remember sometime closer to the beginning of Freshman year, I went to visit a few friends, and we just sat there in the room, throwing a ball in the air and hitting it back and forth. It sounds kind of stupid, but getting retardedly fun things like that going on with a few friends can be pretty great.

I have a friend who spent the entire years worth of lectures just messing about on his smart phone. He's now having to re-sit the year. So yea, don't let those things distract you too badly. Having just said that I'm surfing the BBS in the middle of an Artificial Intelligence lecture right now xD

I just got back from lectures and the cleaning lady has been in my room. She tidied all my stuff and hoovered the floor. It feels really weird that this person I don't know has been going round cleaning my stuff.

That's probably a good idea. As useful as a part time job can be, you can't forget to keep up with your class work. One of my roommates last year did that, and as far as I was concerned, he was paying an awful lot of money to work a shit job.

That's pretty mental, but I generally found first year to be a breeze for the most part. I have about 11 weeks of teaching and then exams, so really you're only 2 weeks in front of me, which I'd say is doable. I guess on the bright side they probably can't test you on as much stuff because there's no way they could cram 20 weeks worth of lectures into 9 weeks.

Few days into living with new housemates after living by myself last year. Daily life seems to consist of getting up at around 10, wandering into town to buy food for later (we have fuck all fridge or freezer space so can't stock up), watching antiques shows until the quiz shows come on, watching Coutdown, The Chase, Pointless and Eggheads, and then they had out to play darts and then go on the drink, and I retreat to my room to watch TV and play video games.

It's a hell of a lot better than living in the shed I did last year.

Not in college yet, but I'm a senior in high school. Anyone have any recommendations for a good school for engineering in the US that doesn't suck? I want to get out of New York.

I have my first serious exam coming up. I'm a little nervous but I'll spend enough time studying this weekend to prepare for it.

Just hanging out with friends and not really doing anything is surprisingly fun. I think today my friends and I are going out to get food but we're going to bring it back to our dorm and have a mini movie night. It should be fun. :]

Good luck with that.

I passed my latest test and I don't know why. About everything I wrote was absolute shit, but I still passed. This means I only have to pass about 4 more exams (three of them are oral exams) and of course I have to pass my degree dissertation, but then I am finally done with university! WOOHOOOO!

Went to a football game with one of my best friends today. He's not going to school with me and I haven't seen him in a while, so it was nice to catch up with him. My school's football team also won today, so that was nice. It's days like today that make it so that I can really enjoy college life and the freedom it can give you.

Well, most of the guys from my floor were in a room a bit down the hall, and I just opened the door to go out into the hall when I hear "You know SomaGuye actually thinks we're his friends?"
