He deserves it, I love his work, especially the Aladdin movie. It's awesome, and I think it was the first movie I watched that had been made by him. All of his work is great.

He gives the tablets to good artists because he knows they will do something great with them. And why do you say that they don't need them? The tablets will be useful to improve their work, or even start working again. Some of the people who won already had a tablet, but it's broken so they need a new one...

I was hoping this had something to do with Fleek :(

Look, there's really nothing that Youtube has done that hasn't already done before - it's just that they had the financial backing to support the traffic they received from launch. Just because you see a feature on Youtube, it doesn't mean that they did it first.

A very simple example of that would be reviews (or comments). They were set up here in 2000, and Youtube didn't even exist until 2005. Does that mean that Youtube was copying Newgrounds? Probably not, but it'd be as an obtuse observation as the one you've made about auto completion.

But the real question is not wether or not Newgrounds and Youtube are similar, but the question is, "Will NG go down the same road as Youtube and eventually be owned by a large comapny like Google?"
