But i do have a picture of his "new" mask from the beginning of the movie (before the hockey mask).

The remake of Halloween was fantastic, simply because it was redone by a director immersed in the world of Horror - Rob Zombie grew up thriving on the classic slasher flicks, like all of us horror-nuts did.

I just don't think Michael Bay has that kind of background, nor the horror know-how to recreate Jason in the proper way.

And you shouldn't get so hung up on the killer not being Jason's Mom for the first one - the idea of Jason, as it progressed through the series, has moved on from simply a mortal mother attempting to seek revenge to an immortal hell-demon killing all who he wishes.

They milked a great story until it lost all purpose and sense. The series' decline started with the second movie and hit rock bottom with X.

See - I view the series starting with the 2nd movie. Jason has to have superhuman ability for him to have his mystique and fearful presence. If it were Jason's mother in the upcoming movie, the human limitations of the protagonist would make this a slow and boring movie - much like The Strangers, I imagine.

Horror flicks are not my favorite but the Halloween series was the best in my opinion. The Friday the 13th series was lame. The first one was ok but after that they went downhill.

Anything since them was weak.

You lost me right there. The remake of Halloween was completely awful compared to the first. The first Halloween movie reinvented the slasher genre, and basically inspired movies like Friday the 13th. Plus, it had an amazing musical score done by John Carpenter, the guy who did The Exorcist soundtrack. It was also one of the first horror movies to employ the use of a first-person camera angle for the killer. In contrast, Rob Zombie movies are pathetic and miserable attempts to do something new or inspirational...And they always fail miserably, because Rob Zombie is a shit director

I believe he wore a bag in the second film before he found the hockey mask and about him runing I think they are trying to spin this movie so that Jason didn't die by drowning and that he's just crazy and hellbent because of his mother's death and fr the kids forgeting about him while he almost drowned. I like how they're making him human because him getting shot a billion times and just getting back up gets old after a while. Anyway from the features it looks pretty good, but you can't base your opinion of a horror movie on a preview. Hope it's better than Jason X.

I agree with you in that a) the original Halloween was revolutionary in many respects, and b) Rob Zombie USUALLY can't make a decent movie (I hated house of 1000 corpses and devil's rejects), but his work with Halloween but a new spin on the character of Michael Myers and filled a noticeable gap in the storyline which many viewers craved.

Plus, he tried to stay as close to the original depiction of Michael Myers as possible, while attempting to make him a more human and sympathetic character.

In the original Halloween, Myers just didn't have the same depth, and viewers were left with a scary boogeyman who they didn't understand and didn't really know much about. In the new Halloween, viewers now know the true backstory behind the monster, and even find themselves rooting for him in many respects.
