yeah im a nub and accepted the photo zip file thats been wandering around msn and now im sending the same crap to all of my buds on msn. I dunno if posting this on newgrounds is the smartest thing to do cus it's way off topic, but im just getting really really desperate now and just reaching out to all of the major forums I'm with, cus I know there's a lot of smart tech-wizes here.

gah I tried a lot of crap trying to get this off but failed...

- updated avast and did a full scan, came out clean
- ran msn photo virus remover, came out clean
- uninstalled msn, changed my pass, reinstalled msn, still does it
- deleted the actual file that I downloaded in my received files folder
- went on msconfig and unchecked msn, then ran taskmanager to see if there were any weird looking apps running, I found nothing unusual.

...ah any suggestions?

oh and if anyone knows me on msn, don't accept any of the files I send you. I probably won't be signing on unless im sure this problems fixed.

well I looked up about a million tutorials, and they didn't mention anything about simply system restoring to get rid of the worm, so im guessing it's much more complicated than that.

Anyone else who has msn get random messages from your friends that send photo zip files saying something along the lines of:

"what do you think of this pic of me that im going to post on myspace? Tell me honestly"
or
"You think this picture if good enough for my facebook profile?"
etc...
and of course the file appears for you to download right after the msg.

This has happened to many of my friends. I learned the truth long ago, but it still pisses me off when i get a "Do I look ugly in this picture?' message.

waits for system 32 fags toshow up...

system restor wont work, bucause that only reverts installs and settings, it is worth a try tho. you could also try using windows msn instead because as far as i know you cant send files with it.

I've accidentally downloaded that before, and looked for a thousand and one ways to try to rid myself of it, but the only thing that worked was a good old system restore; it might seem rather drastic, but it got rid of it at least!

I was really baffled by that MSN virus when I had it, as I've gotten rid of much worse things manually, and that one I just couldn't get.

Leave system 32 alone and go look for an anti-virus program. I had that problem too, and I think I removed it. Use something like AVG Free or Avast.

alright if people are trying to screw up my comp as a joke then that's pretty messed up...
Anyways... So i know to leave system 32 alone. I'll probably give an AVG scan a try since I already tried with avast.

eh.. ill keep you guys updated if I find a fix so I can share it with you guys if you have the same worm.

Pretty hard to tell when you're on this site.

Although if OP isn't trolling, them stop being a retarded cunt and do a system reatore, then stop downloading and accepting everything on MSN, and only accept files from trusty people.

I honestly don't see the point in anti-virus programs any more. The only way I've ever got viruses (that have been blasted by Avira) are from illegal downloads that my friends gave me and crappy "FREE CAR/HOLIDAY/BANANA" emails. If you're dumb enough to accept those anymore, then you should keep the virus.

On-Topic: Reinstall Windows Live, do some more virus scans, don't accept random images.

So like, at first I was like "wuts a domane lol!11" but then I was like "lol i has un!111111111"

Wow! The hackers these days are stronger than they were a year ago.
(The I love you virus)

Anyway, if you need help, I suggest you just use Nortron or AVAST.

To prevent this happening again...

Any time you are sent an attachment, ask what it is. A virus will be unable to answer that question. A human will.

Just imagine I wrote something witty and funny here....

i find it hilarious that kids log on to newgrounds for computer help.

and all sorts of other things, such as questioning sexuality, confusion about religion, suicidal tendencies, and drug problems.

Google is a really helpful tool to use. If you dont know what you're doing with the computer, you shouldnt be touching it or trusting anyone to give you information about your computer... half of the people that have replied have no idea about what they are talking about. Go take your computer to geek squad. Dont set yourself up like this. Fat nerds want to ruin you because they dont have a social life and the only entertainment they can get is from Naruto Hentai and giving BS advice. Take my advice and go ask a professional.

Yea the reason they don't say to do it is because ot consists of starting your computer from scratch which people generally don't like doing, but if you are fucked enough it is the best course of option to take.

Also why would you click on one of these honestly. It's obvious when it's a virus and I even question links that people are talking to me about.

If most people were smart they would back up important information... a "recovery" or a "reformat" usually is good for the computer every so often. IMO But hell, this is the internet, everyone is an F'in genius
