This is the thread for the interviews for the movie: "Fears of Newgrounds".

I made this as a thread so I would reach more people then TeamSpeak2, MSN, e-Mail users and people through leaving messages on their sites.

All users and members are allowed to leave their message here and say whatever they think.

Yes, somebody accused me of trying to copy somebody else idea, but if they had of read my notes they would have found out that that wasn't the idea at all... I dont actually see how they got the idea from!

Yeah, definatly.

Sure there is, they are called daily toons.

Yea, some of them.

No, not everyone can afford over 500 £/$ for flash.

5. Do you like games or movies more than the other?

To make, I prefer games, but I prefer watching movies.

Not generally hurt, but definitely angry. I get most annoyed by the reviewers with no Flash experience who say that the movie took 'no effort'. Even the most basic of stick movies takes a couple of hours' work

I watch the whole movie, unless its a terrible movie.

Yes, to give me a whole view, but sometimes a game is so bad it makes me vote 0 straight away

yeah, ive done that sometimes!

Yeah soemtimes, other times it may be because it was so good or because I forgot about something, etc.

Yeah, you notice the little details.

Not really, my reviews are usually well thought out.

Nope, I dont care about them much... they just help :)

Because I made a mistake, i wasnt thinking clearly!

Yeah

I like dark comedys and also dramas (such as 'milkman' by david firth). Also the super flash bros...

Yeah, I usually vote high for my friends movies... unless they suck!

Well, it depends on the movie/game quality

Yes.

b) For how long has you been working with flash?

5 or six months i think.

c) Would you say that you are well experienced?

Not really. I know the basics and I've done a few bits and pieces with Flash but I haven't made any full movies or anything yet.

e) Do you think you vote more fair when you have experience in flash by your own?

Yes, because you have a better understanding of the amount of work that goes into it.

3. a) Do you think there is any unfair enteries on the portal?

Unfair how? Like things that don't deserve to get through? Sure, but in some ways that's subjective. Just because i don't think something should pass doesn't mean that others won't like it.

b) Do you think there is any unfair blams on the portal?

Yeah, I've seen a few things get blammed that i didn't think deserved it.

4. Do you think people should have tried out flash before they vote?

Not necessarily. Just because someone hasn't used flash it doesn't mean they aren't entitled to their opinion.

5. Do you like games or movies more than the other?

Interactive movies and rpgs are my favourites, so games it is.

6. a) Have you ever left a review on a flash submission?

Yes

b) How many?

35 in my account, 10-20 for things that have been blammed and a couple on my other account GreenApple.

Depends. Decent movies I'll usually watch through. The minimum amount of time I'll watch a movie for is about ten seconds, but that's if it's 10kbs and features much crappy stickness.

b) Do you try to finnish a game before you vote?

Nope. You get a pretty good idea of whether a game deserves to pass or not after the first level or so anyway.

2. a) Do you watch a movie or game again while you are leaving a review? Unless I'm not certain of something I'm typing, no.
d) Do you think you see any new things after a second look? Almost always.

4. a) Would you vote higher on a movie a friend to you had made then on the same movie a personal "enemy" had made?

It would depend on what the movie was about, but I'd probably give the friend a five anyway.

b) Would you vote high on a movie someone that are fair, and make insightful reviews had made? I don't tend to vote based on the person who made the movie.

Yes.

Yeah, good. I'd say Wade's a pretty nice guy for someone who must get bombarded with repetitive emails.

Wouldn't say no if it was the right project. People do it on NG all the time.

Doesn't matter, it's all to do with internet communication. What would matter is how well i knew the person.

Yes.

c) Do you think people who read them are beeing excessively?

What a strange question, of course not. Not reading them is how people get banned.

7. a) Have you ever blowed the whistle for a movie/game?

More than once.

b) What was the accuse?

Racist, hateful, pornographic, stolen, malicious.

c) Did the movie get blammed because of that?

It can't get blammed because it's whistled, once it's whistled it's up to the admins to decide.

d) Had somebody else already blowed the whistle? They have to, one person doesn't have the power to get something marked for administrative review. Possibly ramagi would carry the whistle weight of several people, but i doubt one whistle would be enough.
e) Which whistle level do you have? Silver

8. a) Do you think it's bad that they got the whistle system? Why not?

No. Some things just shouldn't be allowed on the site. If it's flagged rather than blammed, the person can get their account deleted by the admins.

10. a) Was this post good/bad? Ok. Some of the questions were wrong though, like the one about anyone whistling it before you did. But maybe i misunderstood it.
Might be good to get someone to proof read it too, I didn't get a few of the questions.

--------I want to make a pronouncement here:

It's a fact that some people vote 5 if they see a good preloader so they don't have to watch more than that (And 0 if they see a bad preloader). These questions are made to find out about how many people that vote for the preloader and not for the whole movie.

SOMEONE THAT SAY THAT THEY VOTE FOR THE PRELOADER DO NOT HAVE TO HIDE. IT'S NOTHING YOU CAN GET BANNED FOR OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. SO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FOR A GOOD CAUSE. TELL THE TRUTH.

Certainly. A lot of non-flash users give unfair reviews as they don't understand how hard it is.

A lot of things are uploaded which are a waste of everyone's time

It is possible for flashes to be blammed because they have been victimised by certain groups. This is unfair.

ABSOLUTELY!

I mostly like to see games

Yea, thats what I was thinking, besides, it's near impossible to have a quadruple post to start off a thread without someone posting in it before you get the chance to do all four (unless your a mod >B(). (even though s/he didnt attempt to have all four posts at once)

I know that it's a lot of posts to answer. But just answer one post, or then the second part later if you want. You can all do exacctly as ytou want to but putting this on a site would mean that I have to make a site too when I don't have one already. And this questions are for Newgrounds members so I think it's best to put it here, there the mebers easily can read it.

And this post was made to get to all these people I can't get in touch with through msn, mail or whatever. And through posting something that tells people to go to another site would mean that I violate the rules (I think), so I wouldn't do that.

And the first thing people check is the NG forums. And if I post once that people should go to my site, the thread would soon be on the 99th page. And no-body can see it then. So through making up new questions and sending them in, I keep this thread updated and also as a thread you see on the flash forum's first page.

It's not THAT hard to learn Flash if you put your mind to it (of course, this is assuming you have more than 2 brain cells)

Read my comments in my submission tips thread. 'I was bored', 'Vote 5', 'My first Flash', plus too many others.

No doubt about it

Yes, a lot

b) Do you vote high/low if the preloader is good/bad?

Yes, it will affect my vote

c) Do you dislike people that vote on the preloader?

Not particularly. It's an integral part of the Flash - if they can't be arsed prettifying it, then they lose bonus points. First impressions count.

Well. As soon as possible. We are now mostly working with the interviews and this thread, but I got one guy working on a cool "Madness" game and I just got premission to use it by Krinkels.

Around 8 months, started watching stuff in the collections (not the portal) middle of 2003.

b) Have you seen any changes on what's accepted to pass judgement now adays, comparing to what was accepted to pass when the site started, when flash was less usual as it is now?

Haven't been here long enough to say.

4. a) Is there any comments that make you vote high or low (A comment as "It took three months")?

When i started with B/Ps I used to vote based on what i assumed the flash would be like, by the authors comments, whether they'd done anything before etc., anythiong to get a blam/protection point. Now i vote solely on what i think of the flash movie/game.

b) Which comment makes you vote higher/lower?

Makes no difference.

5. Do you think the author's comments affect the score?

Maybe slightly. Sometimes the lack of a comment (and other things) can indicate that the person who submitted it didn't actually make the flash.

6. a) Do you think those people who vote for the preloader affect the ending score for a movie or game much?

Very much so. I remember a flash that got passed with a score over two, but the entire thing was a preloader that just kept going. It shows how many people will vote just for a b/p point. I won't watch a lot of things in the portal over 4 mbs because there have been so many flashes like that (esp. by the star syndicate) and i would rather miss a blam/protection point than waste ten minutes of my time on something that isn't worth watching.

b) Do you vote high/low if the preloader is good/bad?

Sometimes I'll vote higher if it's absolutely brilliant, like something i haven't seen before. But not if the rest of it is crap.

c) Do you dislike people that vote on the preloader?

It's their choice, but it is unfair on people who may not have a good preloader but made a decent film. People should vote on the whole movie/game, not just the preloader.

b) If we say that a movie which ends with a score of 3.45 and a game that ends with a score of 2.95 later make a version together so the movie contains the game. Would the new version get a higher score then 3.45 or 3.45 + 2.95 / 2? What do you think?

I think so. It has more content.

Details? I usually give my highest votes to stuff with a decent storyline.

D:) No, most people i get reviews from have a dark aura and 2 reviews. meaning they're not worth listening to

Not in the slightest. Most of the biggest reviewers have no movies, and there is absolutely nothing whatsoever that can be done to make it exclusively for flash authors only. Most of the valuable input is made by non-flash users. What do you think this site is for? Merely as a Flash user playground? No! It's to entertain anybody and everybody that finds this site. It's been that way from Day One. Long before I even arrived here.

If it's good it doesn't matter. I can probably leave better detailed reviews on games if that matters any.
