I'm let down to see the passing of this. It was an awesome thing to check out every week.

I do hope that Jim can incorporate more intensive stat pages soon. Until then...peace out.

I never posted much in here but I came to look at every update.
It has been nice knowing where I am in the total standing of things, and how others around me are.
Its been a great run and saved me from literally thousands of page clicks here at NG looking at profiles and such.
Thanks for all the hard work SK. Its been great.

old people say lol; and we still use these }{

I'm very disappointed that the NGTL has ended. I enjoyed looking at how well I was doing on b/p, exp, reviews etc. I know why it has to go and I understand. I am going to miss the NGTL a lot and I thank you SK for making it while it lasted.

Response to NG Total Listing 2005-03-21 08:18:40

Such tearful goodbyes. It's almost as if a member died.

RIP NGTL. We <3ed you.

What a shame. Only about a week after I found out this total listing existed, Wade gets mad at the scripts and SK decides to get rid of it. :(

Oh well.

Response to NG Total Listing 2005-03-21 16:03:59

Ah, what a shame. Too bad we have to see this list be shut down. Twas' a good ride while it lasted. Maybe liljim will approve of its use or even make his own. :o

Farewell to thee, you shall be missed.
Yet nothing could save you, not even a kiss.

You were so great, we loved you so.
All we users watched you grow.

Into the list we shant forget,
Your death be in vain, none shall let.

Rest In Peace, NGTL.

Next time that happens, just go into your settings and CLEAR THE CACHE. Then restart firefox. That should do it.

Thanks for the work SK.

Nifty R.I.P. tombstone pic for the NGTL there... why didn't the VP list get one? (hint hint, nudge nudge) #;-}>

Yeah, Roman numbering would just be confusing. The only way a Roman system would work is if I actually used "I", "V", "X", etc. symbols.

That wouldn't have been too bad an idea, actually. #;-}>

It's kinda a non-issue now, though. (le sigh)

I'm just adding stars as I need them. For the moment, 1x 5x and 10x will do. Eventually, I'll probably add a 50x, but that won't be happening for a good long while.

;_;

I think the thing I'm most upset about is that your ALR list never really had a chance to take flight. We never had a working change column to see... and actually, I kinda liked the FIRST update of it (back when it showed the exp+b/p ranking numbers so we knew how everyone got to their overall ranking... but I know that was just for debugging purposes or whatnot). Ah wells.

My performance on the limited run of the ALR:

20050219 - gfox ranked 17th, ALR total: 139 (2 in b/p + 137 in exp)
20050226 - gfox ranked 17th, ALR total: 137 (2 in b/p + 135 in exp)
20050306 - gfox ranked 17th, ALR total: 136 (2 in b/p + 134 in exp)
20050312 - gfox ranked 17th, ALR total: 134 (2 in b/p + 132 in exp)
and... had the 19th update gone down:
20050319 - gfox ranked 17th, ALR total: 133 (2 in b/p + 131 in exp)

(sniff)... makin' progress... but back to invisible progress. Never got to move up a spot on the list, either. DAGNABIT! #;-}>

... anyway:

It was indeed a good 7 month run. :::salutes the NGTL:::

Long may her memory remain.

Well the fact that list never included reviews :(
Even though eventually more people will pass NemesisM66 in BP so no matter which way things are done I woudl have eventually snaged the top spot.

Yeah, I was expecting it to include VP ranking and review ranking as well, if not post ranking... but evne just b/p + exp ranking was pretty cool on its own.

And yep. You certainly would have. You only needed a few more exp spots to do it, right?

Well, hell... you still WILL hit #1 in that, it just won't be on a list anymore. #;-}>

I was thinking it would have done as well... I'd have done OK on that one.

Well, it's been nearly 10 months since the demise of the NGTL, but I'm bumping this thread for a follow-up. Oh, by the way, we can all thank Wade for our current TOTAL lack of statistic pages, which he had promised were in the works before he impulsively smashed the user-run efforts of many. Good job, guy.

But anyway, now that I'm bouncing around here again, I've noticed that a number of NGTL mirrors have expired or died. This is a shame, and I've seen a few people still using the old listings for profile lists and whatnot. My website now lives on the Retrogade server, and it's got space and bandwidth to spare, so I've decided to repost the March 16, 2005 update on jfsoftware.com; I saved a full backup of that last posting on my own computer, so I was able to upload it. You can access it, as always, at http://ngtl.jfsoftware.com (the mirror links have been replaced with "Local" links that lead to the lists)

Oh, and if you haven't noticed it yet, be sure to check out my recent creation, the NG User Search. Nifty little tool, makes searching for users on NG quite a bit easier. The forum thread is at http://www.newground..409703&page=9999
