GUESS WHO
Really awesome painting.
I know who she is but I don't know her name :(
And I made a process shot if anyone is interested =)
Self-portrait, started at 3:50 and finished at 6:10-ish. Is that long?
The original photo is like 2 inches tall :3

Yeah definitely.

I'd love to see those
I know they were on the conceptart.org forums. I can't find the specific thread but it had a lot of good references.
More painting -- it kind looks like the original photo is tinted yellow but I did it anyway =#
Vote : S1nt3ch - because of the cool lighting effects. =)

Ooo, that is awesome. I want more.
Now some figures with a little more detail. I really need to practice stuff like joints, hands, feet, clothes, and faces, so if anyone has any links for tutorials and stuff it is much appreciated. =D

Wow that is cool.
I love your landscapes too, I dunno how you do it. =)
Here is a little more figure practice, I'm still trying to get the hang of it.
At 9/15/07 09:16 AM, GoddaM wrote: so...is it kind of like a gray scale/channel under painting with hues overlayed to finish? I sculpt my colors that's why I ask, this technique is a lot more like conventional painting with oil. however u do it, it's fantastic. still jealous...
That's basically what I did for this, and I used the Replace Color filter to add color to the lights and darks individually.
I'd like to see a tutorial on your PS painting techniques. they are masterful and u seem to be able to crank em out at a steady pace. Brilliant as ever.
The little step-by-step I posted before is basically the extent of my painting technique.
Kinda bored :

and btw, could you post those chow pictures one by one, so they'll get bigger?
If you search through my posts they shouldn't be hard to find. Here is the one I didn't finish in time, or it didn't relate to the topic or something :/

Maybe I will. =P
I forced myself to finish this drawing tonight, here it is with my process. Please tell me how it looks. =)

Did you just learn everything on your own? Because that's some professionall stuff you got there!
Only up until recently I started practicing figure drawing and anatomy. I know a bit, but most of what I have here is from reference.
I've used plenty of tutorials and artist's advice, so I didn't really learn anything on my own.
Thank you guys.
I doubt I'll finish it, it's not turning out the way I want. I'll probably try something different later.
Here's what I got.

Thanks, I hope so.
Here is a drawing I've started. I would like people's opinions on it so far.

Yea a bit, I can't draw full length drawings well, hence all the figure drawings.

Online tutorials... and random pictures on google I use for reference.

That's where I am having most trouble, with colors and all that. Thanks anyway =P
Here is an orthographic sketch of a female soldier I finished without a reference, to test what I knew about anatomy. Please tell me if the proportions are off or something like that.
Here are some random sketches from other random photos... still just practicing.

Thanks, I also used a timed reference for them, they were very difficult at the start but I eventually got the hang of it.
Here are some eyes I drew, also from reference, as suggested by someone at conceptart.org.
They were also resized to fit.

Here are 37 more poses, only done in 90 seconds each.
Hey, sup.
I thought I'd make a sketchbook thread to get a little more feedback on some of my drawings. I figured it is a step forward to becoming an artist of some sort, and it'll keep me motivated for as long as possible.
I'll start with some sketches I did over the summer, mostly figure drawings, and move on to original drawings later. These were drawn in 10-20 minutes with references from posemaniacs.com. I resized them to fit.

That's nice =P
Sometimes I can't think of an interesting pose, like in this case, so I pick one from posemaniacs.com for a reference:
