Agreed. At the moment I'm now hoping that since it's been out of people's heads for a long time now , it won't be as annoying to have it play rather than when it was spammed. But only time will tell.. Don't really see how 12 second clips could take someone so long.

This was suppose to be finish mid summer when I had time to monitor over everything at all times Now with the final year in my courses, school's raping me so I can only give so much time into this.

Finger's crossed that I get the last two parts soon.

Updates on the progress of the two parts will be swell.

As for the credits montage. The full song will be used, but the length and parts won't matter since its just a random massup. Otherwise it could be a collab all on its own lol.
So far turtleco is the only part in it, but i'll make up some random ones to when this is closer to being submitted. (if there's not enough, it'll just repeat parts; if theres too much. it'll show more than one part at a time)

Either way, completing the real collab parts are more important :D

Do a Zombie platformer.

Or do a good Halloween spin off of a classic arcade style : missile defense, donkey kong, etc. Just do a zombie spin off. Not enough time to re invite the wheel less than a month!

Hopefully everyone is close to being done so I can throw all the pieces together and upload it :)

Still no reply from addictinggames but I have e-mailed flashgamelicence now.

Back to homework, we get to use the XNA framework to make some game of our choosing. I'm trying to convince the guys in my group that we don't have the time to make a huge awesome cool game right off the bat lol. A mario zombie mix with multiplier abilities should be fine. lol

I hope you're right. I've gotten in contact with the artist who now says he's planning on playing me but he needs to make the money to do so since it's all spent already... However true that all is.
I'd be super happy if he magically made 2k over the course of a week and sent it straight to me.

Also would be sweet to see a pig fly a jet.

It does seem like he wants to pay me but the main issue for me is... how long will that actually take since he apparently has none now? The longer I'm broke the more the interest shall rape me.

No reply from the sponsor but they're always terribly slow.

Sounds like a good view, I'll be sure to check it out.

A hard-hitting look at the devastating effect on small businesses of customers taking goods and services but not paying for them. The programme is presented by builder Nigel Gray, who hit the headlines when he demolished a brand new conservatory because a customer refused to pay the bill, bankrupting him in the process. Nigel goes on a quest to confront customers who owe some of the 38 billion pounds in overdue or unpaid bills to Britain's small businesses, and reveals the human costs of these cowboy customers. He also goes to Westminster to campaign for laws that will make it easier for businesses to recoup the owed money that could keep them afloat.

@ Luis

I really I don't I have much leverage if any. I mean I have the email convo of him admitting to screw me over and laughing about it. But I don't see what having that'll do. I don't have the time or money to sue him by any means.

Hopefully this semi-explains why I couldn't get a good engine setup for ya around August, was busy playing email tag with this crap :(

@ Toast

Looking back on it all I feel stupid for falling for it. I guess once the debts started to pile I figured this was the only way to get money since the contract was all ready for me and the game only looked to be a few weeks to make if i put full days into it.

Lesson learned.

I've e-mail the sponsor; informing him of the certain state I'm in. Ball's in his court now.
I'm trying to not put too much effort into all this since it really seems to be counter productive.
If it was still summer it would be a different story.

With the few hours I get to myself over the school week I'm going to try to find time for Flash again and try to pump out some sorta casual game to get either sponsored or throw ads in. I only need enough to pay my debts for now.

That or just carry around a tin can with "change please" on it.
Thanks for everyone's words, it has helped me think it all over.

Brings a smile to my face to see a group of people taking interest in this issue.

Yes it is the greyhound racing game on addicitinggames. And Snubby is just some alias addictinggames used for themselves since it was an exclusive sponsorship we basically we're working literally for them as contracted staff in a way.

So don't let that part confuse you.

Thanks again guys.

Oh I didn't mean it like that at all. I just don't see this working out to me getting paid. But I want him to at least have to refund the sponsors due to basically stolen code. Of course I'd rather just get what I'm promised and let this all fade away. Or at least pay off what I owe.

Anyways, thanks for the advice everyone. I'm slowly thinking up a way to bring this all up to the sponsor formally. I can't called his parents since he lives alone. But I'll def look into the gamelicense site and contacting the sponsor.

Added Details

Yes the person is cartoon-electra or as far as I know (steven binks) nickname Ste
How true his name is questionable since he seems to change usernames a lot.

The contract was for 6000 USD I was promised 2000, got none.
This was the second game I've work with and the first I was promised 400, but was never given that either since it wasn't sponsored. (little amount since I didn't code it from scratch, I was just finishing what someone else started)

I'd be completely happy with just 1000 since I need that to pay off the depts that have piled up while waiting to be paid.. I would just get a job but my schooling calls for 40-50 some odd hours a week. plus homework.

I hope no one falls for this trap ever.

I have his name (hopefully legal name)
but the sponsor sent the money via check to his address so they would have his address since they refuse to use paypal. (thank god, i guess)

I never delete emails so i have everything from me and the sponsor, I don't have the msn convos between me and the animator anymore, but i do have the emails of the "haha guess what, you're not getting paid" and the back and forth of that admitting that he did owe me X, and that he plans on not paying me because he can.

I don't expect to be able to get paid, i'm more so looking to if I had at least make sure he get's screwed over at least. Since technically he's using code now that he doesn't have permission to use I can request the sponsor to take it down from their website. And hopefully have them force him to refund them.

But I don't know, I'm trying to just ignore it and work on projects with my more trusted animators but this has really taken its toll and I want to make sure I don't overlook anything I could have done.

Hey guys,

Over the summer I seem have gotten the run around in working on a flash project and wanted to know if there's anything I could do. Any advice would be great guys.

Basically what happened is I worked for an animator who had a contract with a sponsor to be paid when the game was completed. I said I would program it for x amount of the sponsorship and everything went great. I would stay in contact with the sponsor often to show updates etc.

Game went live and the money was set to the animator (due to me not being in contract with the sponsor directly the money had to be sent to him then from him to me) Game went live a good couple months ago and still no pay for me. Excuses involving paypal freezing ect were given then finally the animator admitted that he had spent all the money already.

So technically since I was never in contract with the sponsor it's not their fault but the animator's and since he never paid me I'd assume now he's using my code without permission.

Is there anything I can do?
Thanks guys, this has been a real downer for me this past month and I'm just trying to finish my last year at college without dept and this stress.

Now that I'm slowly removing myself from under some rock I seemed to have be stuck in, I've installed Windows 7 on my junker (2 year old) laptop. So far so good. Now to slowly put my games, adobe shit, and netbeans back on then the real tests begin. If all goes well I'll throw on the other install I get as a boot on my mac so I can play steam outside of a shell.

I wish I had remembered PAX earlier since I'll be in Washington tomorrow but more in the Bellingham area.. or Everett. I'm not really sure since I'm not the one driving lol.

Play the dadgame drunk and it seems like the best idea ever.

So score one for flash on that one.

it's about time.

Try to break up your images into sections not just having one large background if it's really detailed so it only needs to render what's on screen.
