I don't think maturity maters. Immaturity is not necceserily annoying nor fueled by ill-intentions, it can be something as simple as playful posts.

*wholehearted agreement*

Maturity is overrated, hugely.

emmmm, how do I import music in flash and where do I get the song from???

Alright. If you don't have any music on your computer you want to use, try visiting the Audio Portal and looking for some music you like.

To import a song to your flash, go to File>Import to Library and select your song. Open your library window with Control-L, make a new layer, and click and drag your music file onto the stage. To synch to your music better, click on the frame you put the music into, and, in the properties panel at the bottom of the screen, change the music from "event" to "stream."

Good luck with your animation mans :)

Unless you mean he actually extracted explosion movie clips from a simple line, then there's no problem. Nobody owns that style of explosion.

Same with the song.

Two flashes can use the same song. A simple line certainly doesn't have a monopoly on it - MSI is good for FBF flashes, and there's nothing wrong with reusing some music.

Way to go, If you can't make your own stuff you don't deserve a high score, sorry.

If he drew it, he made it, simple as that. The animation should be judged by its own merit, not by how it reminds you of some other flash =)

Thanks much! I'm glad it fits....I kind of wanted it to be realistic, but then I looked at "Prowlies at the River" (to study the splashes) and broke down and cried for an hour. I settled for the unrealistic looking water in the end =)

Yeah! It would be great because loads of poeple would be motivated to start new stuff, maybe when it get's bigger it could be moe of a whole flash artist site!

Working on water right now - and it's taking forever, too.
I've never done water, is it hard?

That link is an update, it has some of the water in it. The way I'm drawing it, it's not too hard, but not too fantastic-looking either, and is slow going. Still, I'm pretty happy with it =)

After this, we should start an fbf crew forum, so like loads of people that are fbf artists, and people can just team up and whatever with other members, like some cool fbf dating service....

Haha, absolutely! There's not enough love going around between the FBF artists =D

At 3/29/05 10:14 PM, symbolmonkey wrote: thats awesome. so is your animation a animation or a game? or both?

It's going to just be an animation. I'm not clever enough to code Go. The animation....oh man, I'd describe it to you, but it wouldn't be the same without hearing the music to go with it simultaneously.

The animation is inspired by some history of Go. There was a point where Go was integrated into the training of warriors - the current ranking system for go was actually the same scale used for the warriors. Go was expected to teach the troops wisdom in battle. Go was so highly viewed, that at this time, the chief advisor to the emperor would be a Go master. Go was the game of emperors, and the advisor was responsible for teaching it to the Emperor's son. The Go master's advice on all matters would be heeded, as his skill in Go presumably showed that he possessed great wisdom.

My story concerns a military general, a genius who quickly rose through the ranks and surpassed his teachers with some amount of ease. Now, he is visiting a reclusive Go master, who spends most of his time meditating on a mountaintop, like all dramatized Go masters should =). The general will play a game of Go with the master to try and learn as much of the master's wisdom as possible.

Though I doubt that this situation would actually ever occur, the history is real. The Go match itself....well, it's the heart of the animation, and also doesn't sound nearly as awesome without the music accompanying it.

Anyway, high hopes for that animation =)

You play Go? Gloooory be!

It's very hard to find other players...I'm hoping to make an animation so glorious that it makes front page and lures thousands to the game. The script and music and everything is good enough to do it...but my animation skills are not. So I'm working on other things until I get skilled enough.

Response to: Is it wrong im athiest? Posted March 29th, 2005 in General

Athiests still have faith - they have faith that God doesn't exist. I'm not so sure about it either way - I'm an agnostic.

At 3/29/05 03:51 PM, Jercurpac wrote: I don't understand why other Christians push so hard to convert Athiests. In my opinion understanding your own spirituality is a life long process, pressuring someone to believe what you do isn't going to help anyone. My own views on god and religion are constantly changing and I prefer to give people space to make thier own discoveries.

Although, I have noticed that my friends who are Athiests have been just as pushy as my Christian friends about trying to get me to side with thier beliefs.

Christianity has the idea that if you're not Christian, you're going to hell. It also has the idea that we should be good to one another. Now, saving someone from eternal damnation sounds like a pretty good deed! Converting the nonbelievers is (ideally) an act of compassion on their part. However, smart Christians should stop if they know that the person they're preaching to doesn't want to change.
