is that kind of video version allowed to be submitted to NG if we convert to .SWF

Anything can be submitted if its in the size limit and correct .swf format. Not saying something like that spoofing coughgaybackstreetboyscoughcough would be blammed.

Response to: Teacher Needed Posted October 14th, 2008 in Game Development

once again someone simply asks: "how do I make a game?"
One word: SHUN.

Response to: Game Tutorials Posted October 14th, 2008 in Game Development

The AS main? of course not its a BBS thread not a submission.

Response to: .swf Posted October 14th, 2008 in Game Development

hahhahhahahhaha okay sorry, you just made my day though.
Google what ever file format movie maker uses converted to swf. So like .wmv to swf converter.
Otherwise just get flash.

Response to: Are you using Actionscript 2 or 3 ? Posted October 14th, 2008 in Game Development

If you have flash 8 dont buy CS3 (flash 10, fuck adobe) if you dont have a version get the new one, it will help a lot later, and save money if you are serious about it.

Response to: Gradient help Posted October 14th, 2008 in Game Development

go into the fill color menu thru the sidebar and select one of the colors at the bottom left.
I'm not calling you a noob, but I think you should be more observant. From hanging out in the flash forum I have noticed most questions can be answered thru educating yourself with the program at hand by yourself. Take a year, two years to get familiar with it make little flashes, but don't spam the portal unless they are really good. I have messed with flash for two and a half years and have not even submitted a single thing, and I still learn as much as I can.

Observe.

Are you serious? That is so simple it isn't even funny.

Good tut

No shooting but copy and paste one of the key variables and change the contents to, for example, your character using its instance name you make it so it goes to a certain frame on that symbol where a bullet shoots, then convert the bullet to a movie clip and give it actions so if it touches the enemy they die. Its simple actionscript, if you want it enough go to AS main, dont ask how to make a game on the forums because it is RETARDED. We can't tell you, you have to open flash, learn as and make one.

A simple fact; you can make a very good game, front page material, through buttons. Simply make the enemy a button that goes to a certain frame, delve upon that you get a complex game. Yea there is a lot of pointless frames and lots of confusion making but you can make a game that simple.

Response to: Flash 8 Posted October 14th, 2008 in Game Development

Well here is what I did for a year until i saved enough money:
I downloaded the trial over and over, just means u gatta make some more emails, I just went to Gmail made like 8 and done, I had it for a good amount of time for free.

I got sick of hour downloads every month so i just bought flash 8 about a year ago but thats lazy me.

Response to: There She Is...nt? Posted October 5th, 2008 in Game Development

oh and btw your statements are hypocritical and idiotic. Entertainment here at NG is good animation so find yourself a nice little tree, and hopefully I don't need to explain the process of raping a tree in a dark part of the city

hey zorse be helpful not sarcastic.

NG tutorial
Pretty good on fx.

Also this site has great tuts:
However most need some cash, about 10-20 dollars average for one lesson. In a package you can get 3-5 lessons for 30-50 dollars. Worth it.

learn variables. Nobody can tell you exactly everything, you have to fend for yourself on such a big programing project.

Nice spelling. Well break down the error message. It says you need an event handler. So basically your telling it a variable but not what it is supposed to do with that. Unless this is only a part of your script that is the problem. I can't see any errors in the code but I'm not a programer.

Response to: any casino tutorials? Posted October 5th, 2008 in Game Development

first get to know AS. Go to AS main or AS3 main (search at the bottom of forum) depending on which version you have. Then after you learn what AS is and have an intermediate knowledge of it, ask again if you still don't know. It would mainly be math and variables I can tell you that now.

Response to: 1frame collab (biggest collab) Posted October 5th, 2008 in Game Development

Response to: I need help finding a sound! Posted October 5th, 2008 in Game Development

or get a mic and use audacity to record off your speakers. I didn't look up what the sound was but there is a good chance you can replicate it in your house with something.

Response to: Looking for help Artist Posted October 5th, 2008 in Game Development

For the album art, is it going to be the disc here on NG? if so it would be to small for your request.

Second flash is flash, animation. Go into the sig thread and talk to those guys about getting a banner and stuff, even the album art.

For the third thing, even though its paid i doubt anyone would do that anyway.

So hit up the sig makers on the first two :)

Response to: Preloader doesn't show up. Posted October 3rd, 2008 in Game Development

wow took a lot of people to solve that one. Interesting problem though. BTW your not an idiot like that one guy said, he is, mainly because simulating a swf creates a swf file and exports showing you that file. So guess what, same result happens if you export and upload. To prove it draw a gun shooting or something, save it as fla with a name, then go back into simulate, and go into your folder and look how it is also saved as swf. Also good luck on your project and don't let dip shits discourage you.
