Worst idea ever. Spammers would just make their movies ten minutes long and the average person would ignore. Only the spammers and their mass voting friends would wait until the end to vote five.

The actions of the mods, mass deleting of all the spam movies regardless of quality, only encourages users to vote without watching. Either they get mass voted in and people get their protect points, or they get deleted and people get their blam points. The people who care about their stats get their points regardless. The entire system needs to be overhauled before anything meaningful will change.

It should start with the blam threshold being moved up to about a 2.0 minimum.

I don't know why the whistle is being blown on so many of them. Submitting low-quality flash is not against the rules.

Mother 3 should be remade for the Game Boy Advance or released on the Wii VC.

If any form of Earthbound is released for the Wii, the Wii becomes a must buy for me.

Hands down, the best topic I have seen on NG in my tenure. The original is FAR superior to the Game Cube version. I have played the game cube version and I always go back to the original because it is much more FAIR AND BALANCED.

I have yet to play the new one for the Wii but I have little hope that it is better than the original because the N64 versions have been superior to the sequels. All of the sequels have been dumbed down and made much more "casual" friendly with all of these unbalanced super moves (Mario Kart and Mario Tennis Gamecube). Looks like the new Smash Brothers is going the same way with the powerball etc.

Despite owning a 360 having "next-gen" PC games, I still play my original Xbox, and SNES regularly because the originals are often better. Sequels in everything (games, movies, books, etc.) are rarely better than the originals. The one rare exception is the pure Mario franchise in which the games continue to get better (Mario Bros>Super Mario World>Mario 64>etc.)

Expensive, underpowered laptops with one USB, no cd drive and no ethernet (and no firewire I should mention since it is still a mac)?

Again, I said the future, not necessarily the present. The price of components will fall and promenance of USB/CD storage will decline in favor of wireless and digitial distribution. I use a minimum of three USB ports at all times but it was not so long ago that I was using a clunky serial connection for my printer and a PS2 connection for my mouse/keyboard some ports do evolve.

Bingo we have a winner. People fail to realize how crazy popular Yahoo is as a webportal. Google is a much better search engine but Yahoo has so many more features that appeal to such a broad audience. For example, fantasy sports are a great draw for Yahoo in a category that Google is completely lacking in.

Google's office apps help, but draw too small of an audience.

To them they don't need anything you can't download from the internet or isn't previously installed.
It is for the occasional stock market trading program and whatnot.
Also why would a buisness man need CD/DVD drives? They have no humor or anything that is prone towards entertainment anyway.

I am not a buisness man, just a college student here, and the last time that I used my CD drive was about two months ago to watch a movie while snowed in. Before that, I had not used my drive for about a year and a half when I installed my antivirus.

CDs are going the way of floppys for just about everything besides installing software and playing games. The only time I handle DVDs now are when I am putting them in my Xbox/Xbox 360.
