Thanks! I accept you philosophy, but no one can argue that the pursuit of science has been fruitless. I mean, by your presented argument everything we ever experience ever will fall into this realm of ignorance since we can only ever perceive shit from our point of view, thus the presented argument itself is pointless by its own definition and from a practical point of view - so why bother with it?

Novel experiences tend to be more engaging. There are theories to support that this an innate part of our psyche; newborns and infants tend to hold their gaze longer on newer faces/objects.

So I guess the longer you spend away from something, the more 'novel' it seems when you return.

If that's true, and not made up/exaggerated/performed because you're one of those kids who likes to do weird shit for the sake of doing weird shit, then that behaviour MIGHT be able to be classified as one of many that have to be present in order to receive a diagnosis of schizophrenia.

Lotta if's pal.

Anyway, there's nothing really to discuss here. Go see a doctor if it is true and not one of the other things I listed.

For real. Seven is a very common lucky number (also 3, but that makes less sense). I'd bet that has something to do with it.

Most people wouldn't know about the lineup the OP put out, and for those that do, you can rationalize it (like the non-DOS release thing that someone pointed out).

Have you ever done any research on how people strive to validate their own views/opinions? It's such a strong urge that often people ignore or filter out information that opposes that view.

Intelligent people will quite enjoy the irony of your statement, I daresay. =)

I HATE Al Gore for dubbing millions of people into believing that we are essentially "cooking" ourselves within our own atmosphere.

He's impassioned and gets things done, makes change happen. What have you changed lately?

I have studied Physics and Geography and even I can see that it's a naturaly occurring process. It happens after every ice-age, and yes, we are technically still in an ice -age because both of our poles are covered in ice.

A quick web search doesn't seem to agree that the absolute definition of "ice age" means "some ice on the poles." *shrug*

"OH NOES the ice is melting." Of course it fucking is, that is what ice does for fucks sake.

...Unless it's cold enough to sustain ice.

Global Warming is a term used by the Govt. to scare people, to impose taxes, to gain control over fuels.

Hahaha, what a horrendous oversimplification. I like how you're trying to "educate" people here, but in reality all you're doing is forcing your own biased, rushed and flimsy arguments on whoever will listen. Some might say that's the same kind of tactic the government uses... hmmm....

This article sums some points up nicely
It's all bullshit....

"Even though the temperature standstill probably has no effect on the long-term warming trend, it does raise doubts about the predictive value of climate models, and it is also a political issue. For months, climate change skeptics have been gloating over the findings on their Internet forums. This has prompted many a climatologist to treat the temperature data in public with a sense of shame, thereby damaging their own credibility."

The article is about uncertainty. I don't think it sums up what you're saying at all.

I got hooked on it instantly. The best part is the completely customizable board and all the resultant strategies. And that's just with the original; I haven't even played the expansions yet.

Get it off eBay if you buy it, it can set you back like 50 bucks in a store.

Negative. Avoid heartless gift certificates. Those are good for distant cousins, not girlfriends.

Anything homemade is usually a safe bet, unless she's overly cynical or tomboyish. A handmade card along with the perfume might do the trick. Or a framed photo of the both of you or something.

I used to play almost every day in high school. I don't know what my record is. Probably something like 25 - I was usually in a setting with more than just myself; our team volleys probably got higher than that. We played POT a lot: if the hack hits you anywhere but your foot and then touches the ground next you collect a letter (spelling P-O-T). If you got all three you had to stand against a wall while everyone else took a turn pelting the hack at you, then the game was reset.

Good times!

It could be a generational thing; it won all sorts of German awards back in the 90's, but it's supposed to be gaining popularity over in the Americas. According to the wiki article it's gotten into the 2005 Games Hall of Fame, and when I type "sett" into my Google Bar it's the first suggestion.

Have any of you guys ever played this board game or any of its expansions? With its huge popularity, and this site's general interests I was very surprised not to find a topic about it...

Anyway, I was introduced to it not so long ago by some friends, and for the first month or so I could not stop playing it! It's like Monopoly and RISK rolled into one (sorta). Unfortunately I got buried under school shit and haven't been able to pursue it for some time now.

Anyway, I was looking for some folks to discuss it with as I am currently procrastinating doing said school shit.
