Topic: Yet another madness collab

I'm starting to loose my mind because i really like working in collabs for two reaseon:
1) I am a lazy bastard.

Beg you pardon, but what?
Why are you admitting you're a lazy bastard in front of all your future collab-members?

Nobody is mad at you, don't look so down on yourself.
Hey, at least you had the courage to post another collab! There are lots of people here who would like to do one as well, but lack the courage to post it, because apparently, madness is pretty hyped.

You should be proud at yourself.
Surely, it is not creative, but it still is a collab and what matters is not the idea behind it, not the leader, but THE MEMBERS and their PARTS!

They make the collab great!
A collab is a collabration between friends of all sorts of places to make something they all like making. So don't put yourself down if the idea is bad, because it's not, and you should just be happy you had the courage to bring it up and let people join!

So right now, stop this mumbling about negative things, get out there, and start making a hell of a great collab! ;]

You'll be surprised how many people actually like it... really, I know.

Every new person makes it better, I think.
So far, I cannot express how grateful I am to you, Funky, you've been with us since the very start and you've given your full time and dedication. If there's one person I should be thanking, it's you.

But at the end, everyone did what they could.
Some went through a lot of time, others did it quickly, but regardless, everyone tried their very best, I'm sure of that :)

I wasn't a good leader up to now... I'm not the leader-type after all, it seems.
But it's always worth trying, and I think we've done very well so far.
So guys, let's give our very best 'till the end of this!

And thanks to you all for staying here and contributing.

I don't have the time and enthusiasm to send another 18 mails to everyone, asking to get active again.
I'll see what happens with the new thread.

Y'hello,

I've done some improvisations with my piano.
Actually, I've been doing those since about two years ago.
I just took some time yesterday to record 'n post them.

It might not be exactly suitable for the kind of music you chaps make here,
yet it would be a pleasure for me if you gave them a listen and told me what you think.

Everything is improvised, so I never took time to note down anything at all.
Even vocals are all improvised. I do write lyrics, yet in these videos, I always improvise them.
Naturally, they're filled with mistakes and nonsence (as I am a native speaker as well), yet I hope it won't be too bad.

Y'know what... just give it a listen:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DenseTea

They're all there.
Feel free to review/comment on YouTube or here. :]

Thanks,

Thanks a lot for mentioning it!

the piano playing is pretty good .. the vocals kinda waver out of tune... sounds like your searching for words while you sing... try to tell a story or go with a theme .. the words will pop in your head easier.

It all depends on the current situation, more or less.
One day, I'm able to sing a while story, the other, I can merely sing random words.
It is especially hard for me, as I am a native speaker and English isn't my primary language.
Regardless, I understand what you're telling here ;]
I'll try to look for a theme before playing, as that'll probably help as you said.

Like before you play try to write a small story in your head and visualize things in the story and emotions involved..
plus every piano man should have some stories to tell wether it be about everyday life .. a way that your feeling about something or even just a made up tale ... thats why billy joel was so good.. he put pictures into peoples heads with his words and gave a feeling to the story with his music.

You sure like Billy Joel's Piano Man, don't you? :]
I love the song, and indeed, he was a great player thanks to that gift.
Of course, note that he had already written the song down once, yet I do agree!
I have plenty of stories to tell, -heck, I even write stories myself-, so I reckon if I focus on it, it shouldn't be any problem!

myself i have been trying to learn piano by just playing along with some loops.. i have also tried singing along with my playing.. it friggin hard.. kinda like my brain wont let me do the two at the same time so i end up sluring my words or fucking up my playing...

I suppose you already figured I have a similar problem sometimes :)
Loops are indeed a nice way of learning, I study piano as well, yet I use loops to practice too.
They're a nice kind of way to play, as it feels a whole band it supporting you!

At any rate, I wish you all the best for your future!
I'm sure you'll be posting your own songs 'n tunes in no time ;]

Recording it is awesome as well it give you a database of what your good at so you can eventually write a masterpiece with all that you have created...i would say over time youll get better at improv steadily.. i have gotten better at it but im still not as good as you.. since i dont acctually play piano.. i thought cause im a pretty good drummer i would be good at the ambidextrousness of it but it is extremely different and kinda difficult

Indeed, I figured I can't really write everything down, but I may as well record it!
So I did, it's the first record so I might've been slightly nervous too... Ah well!
I'll get better over time, yeah, and besides; I'm still young, there's a whole future ahead of me.
And so is there for you!

Thanks a thousands for the constructive criticism, I really appreciated it!

Besides, we don't have THAT many parts left! :]
And yours looks great; so I'm glad.

I suppose it would be better if we made a new thread, as that always attracts a lot more people.
However, I won't make one just yet... I'm still about to have my exams and I'll be off to Ukrain for a month. Yeah, I'll have internet access, but I want to make sure the new thread stays active :]

Please comment.

I really appreciate your making the menu, but I'll have to disappoint you...

Please try to understand that Funky has been in the collab since the very start and the menu was his job. He spend a lot of time on it and besides: I've already made the actual collab file; and I integrated his menu into it.

So even if I'd use your menu, I'd have to remake EVERYTHING I have so far, which is quite a lot of work... It's just much easier at this stage to stick with Funky's menu.
Your menu looks great, that indeed, I'm afraid I just won't be able to use it though.

Sorry that I didn't tell your earlier,

A big 'lol' at all you guys! :D

It's great to see some of you so dandy and happy about it.
I'm sorry I haven't been online for this long; I was on a school trip which lasted 3 days + a friend is staying over and Flash is quite possible the last thing we're thinking about...

To everyone who wants to join: please do!
We seriously need those last parts filled so if you're still interested: DO APPLY! ;)

I'll hold a bit of a clean-up and clear all inactive users so more spots will be open. Right now, I have about 12 finished parts in the main collab; so it's already quite good. Now, I know there are still some people who are working on it (like Whirlguy) but there are also those who seem to have died... :(

At any rate, just post if you want to join or have any questsions: I'd gladly answer them. :)

(I might make a new thread to get more members, but not right now... exams *sigh*)

Cheers,
-Zerobeam

PS. Bertn (maker of The Pirate Collab) is sitting here and he says I should include this PS in here to mention that he's sitting here playing a EU50-worth guitar of which the snares have rust on them. He says hello to all :)

As far as progress goes: It's kind of slow.
I saw many people who were excited about it, but I guess time is the limit.
It's just a bit sad that the collab gets such low priority, but then again, life is more important.

I'll pretty soon start preparing for the exams so I too won't be active a lot.
As always, I check regularly, so if there's any question I'd gladly answer it!

I guess it's just about waiting until some people get active again.

What about you, Whirly?
Still working on the part?
I remember it was great, so you may as well finish it; would be great to see an update! :]
