though i think you and that flaming guy are very much alike - he is threatening you on the internet, you are whining on the internet. Both of you say nothing of importance.
any life can be thought of that it was well lived. same goes for life wasted.
all you wrote about are your own criteria for living a life well. "goodnes" is horribly relative.

LaTeX.
the drawing of the angel on the first page of the thread reminds me a bit too much of one of Luis Royo drawings/paintings, but otherwise your style is very good.
i wonder if dyed black cats still affect peoples luck...
Harry Potter is not that bad really, though it gets repetative, so i only read about a half of the books. Didn't bother watching more than 1 movie though...
community, original flash and music without copyright threats, and i guess i also use it as an information source for what is happening in the world, like a newspaper - only that even potential crap gets flamed here so quickly that all that is left is nice and clean news after all else burns away.
I prefer the cold - there are many activities i enjoy that are summer only, but winter includes pretty good ones as well, like snowboarding.
So it would be great if people died of an illness that can be cured nowadays but couldn't be back than?
I'm afraid i still dont get the point of this topic.
smoking outside is really a great way to avoid toxic fumes inside huh...

Then again, she's really ugly and starts crying at the mere mention of her disabilities, at the age of 19. This is my question to you: Is there a chance she'll ever make it in life?
Why wouldnt there be? I suppose there is a reason you get your degree after you complete your education, not simply depending on how your future looks to some person the first day you enter school.
You could generalize this to everything really, as long as she is alive you can't know what she will turn out to be. Its just that the world would be very different if it was that easy to predict the future of someone.

The system would work if you had assigned work every week, and optional lectures available. I think the main problem would be stay-at-home moms/dads getting fed up with their teenager never being at school, and then seeing their bad grades. They'd probably blame the school system.
Or parents who assume that just because there's a day with no lectures you are doing nothing and bother you in any way possible, preferaby with sending little kids to you to play with or getting you to do house chores. Or go lecture you about finding a job while you are in the middle of a book that has the number of pages you are not even sure you could count to before the exam date, yet possibly read.

The computer is the tool by which tasks are accomplished, not the accomplishment itself. As long as the task is accomplished, what does it matter what means are used to do so?
Still as a tool it doesn't need to be a stone tied to a stick. So people will naturally be discussing how to get most out of the money they spend for the computer.
