Because as soon as humility is considered virtuous, the pursuit of it is counter productive. Self-righteousness is not humble.

And why did you skip InsertFunnyUserName? He had a really good point.

The thing about being truly humble is that it's supposed to encompass all of your actions and thoughts. If you think you're humble, you're not. simple. obviously, i am not humble. i don't think this makes me hypocritical because i'm trying to be, and most of my slip-ups in that are internal pride.

I didn't really skip him, what he said makes perfect sense. why take the time to talk about every point he made when i don't disagree?

Do not dare lump post-hardcore with metalcore and emo. Post-hardcore is one of the best modern genres. Fall of Troy, Thursday, Dance Gavin Dance... awesome.

This is post-hardcore. How is it shit?
That is shit. Dance Gavin Dance, Thursday, and Fall of tryo all suck and are depressingly horrible. It's all emo.
Unless you are trolling, in that case, fuck I lost. I'm so out of it today.

Nah man, nah. Dance Gaving Dance does suck, but in a good way. But outright saying Thursday and FoT are shit is just stupid. The musicianship is stunningly brilliant, with songs that are crafted, not simply written. That song there is so well put together it blows my mind, and Fall of Troy can be annoying but they've found a unique niche which you can't say about too many bands.

there's a line between difference in taste and just calling it shit because you can.

What do you listen to? I really want to know, not to flame, just to know. Hopefully not the Newgrounds Three: Zeppelin, Metallica, and Floyd.

Who else likes hardcore EFFING music? Not metal, HARDCORE! metal sucks. You know what i hate? distorted phrygian scales. And METAL. But damn I love hardcore. It's so brutal and intense (when you do it right) and there's so much energy and carefreeness in it. I go to hardcore shows and i jump around and get into mosh pits (not throw-down, but real mosh where it's just good ol' shoving) and i'm pumped and having a great time.

I hate all the BRVTAL bands that take themselves seriously. it's just fun, fags! stop making it about rape and crap like that.

who else loves hardcore?
(ps i haven't listened to hardcore music in over a year i just love shows and stuff)

No thanks.

There's a thing in the bible called the burden of truth. basically, once you hear the gospel you must follow it or you will go to hell. if you never hear it (aborted baby or so on) you're in heaven, free pass. get it riiiight! i know this won't change your mind.

Would it simply not be easier to forget the word by word interpretation and just live your life in accordance with the lessons it teaches?

That would make more sense would it not?

Unless of course you actually expect giant bowls of God's anger in liquid form to be poured out over the earth anytime soon...

In which case you're batshit insane and would like you to find a new word to classify yourself so the rest of us don't have our reputation degraded by you.

woah dang, i'm out of my league saying this stuff cause i'm not wise enough to word it well...

that's like the opposite of what i'm implying, but people are totally called to be humble. it's a super major theme, man. so much in the bible is imagery that too many take too far, that's why being anal about the details is bad.

and God is love, man. The bible says nothing about God's anger being poured on the earth in the end times. but rather, he will draw back even further than he has (the world shuns him so he's gone pretty dormant. don't want him, he won't bother you.) God's not gonna rape the earth one day, there will just be a lack of God and Christianity whatsoever. and that'll be pretty bad too. so anyway... yeah

but it's so chill man. You should let up on Christians trying to convert you, too. like, heck yeah they can be annoying I've seen it and felt it. But they're doing it because they believe what they believe. If you believed in heaven and hell and someone else didn't and was leading a life of destruction, wouldn't you want to share that knowledge with them? they're just doing their part.

It's like we Christians need to find a new name for ourselves because being a real one isn't a good thing anymore. So many people claim Jesus is their Lord but he's just plastic to them, nothing more than something they used to make them sleep better at night (everyone has their own reasons. maybe they can't accept death, maybe they want to feel like their a better person) but there's so much rampant bullcrap flowing from their mouths all the while. Christians are called to be HUMBLED. It's seriously one of the most stressed points in the bible, why can't anyone pay attention to it? Our goal is to show the love of Christ through our every action, not just tithing or something. Being ignorant, mistreating your family, having affairs, being selfish and prideful and hypocritical. It's pretty hard to be a Christian these days but to not suck at just a few of those things is not hard at alllll. and that's bare the minimum. If everyone was as humble as we are called to be, the world would just be perfect. People serving people serving people. everyone doing kindness to others not by reward but by duty.

Let's do it guyz!
not really, i know that wouldn't work.
but maybe if you're a christian, this would remind you what being in the world but not of the world is all about.

anyway.

you kids watch this retarded show?

I don't understand how they get away with this crap man. it's two fat douchebags sitting in dark buildings for a while with TONS of expensive gear calling out to spirits. when they get zero return on a single one of their 50 tools, they start freaking out and saying shit like "did you hear that?" "dude i swear to god i just heard a little girl."

in one of the episodes, they found nothing and then said "spirits like places near water." then the show was over. that was their summation.

what the hell?

No. You're wrong.

I know it's about taste and we all vary differently there, but that kind of solo is the worst out there. It detracts completely from the music. If a solo is so prominent that you aren't paying attention to anything else going on musically, it's not good. No amount of slowness or sweeping will change this.

Old bands didn't set any sort of precedent. They made the generic music that wasn't generic at the time, and people liked it, but if you can listen to Metallica and actually like it you're stuck in the 80s.

Vibrate does the job.
