Me, on the other hand, I loved it. I didn't have to think, didn't have to make an effort to look presentable, or anything.
For me, uniform was just another unnecessary hassle in everyday life. If we didn't have uniform, I'd have just worn the first thing I ripped out of my wardrobe when I got up. That's how I've always dressed myself. Uniform just meant extra time doing buttons, tying ties, etc. And on top of all that, they're just uncomfortable.
People claim that uniforms stop kids from making fun of each other because of their clothes, since uniform makes all kids equal. This is bollocks, as when I was at school there was still an enormous amount of bullying over what coats they wore, or what trainers they wore in PE.
Another thing that fucked me off about school uniforms is that they were enforced upon myself, and other people I was in lessons with because we were among the more intelligent students (higher sets for every lesson, etc) but the kids who were in all the thick classes were turned a blind eye when they turned up in trainers instead of shoes, or when they conveniently forgot their tie that day.
