I live in Toronto and have grown up around South Asians. I would honestly say that any immigrant who doesn't know basic basic english shoudn't really be coming to the country. Currently im in a very chinese and south asian populated area and I often encounter many old men and women who I have no way in communicating with. If something were to happen to me or them it'd be very difficult to properly help them. And in praticality it makes no sense bringing old immigrants here. They are most likely too old to work and we have to pay their medical expenses. It makes more sense when their coming with a family but other than that, its kind of ridiculous.
