I think it's because they find it unjust to capture a pokemon in that manner. It's more honorable to leave them concious before capturing them, and a method like fainting them and then capturing them is something team rocket would do.

I would go right back to grade 6. Back in the days. But the only problem I have is that I kill my grade 6 and onward self. I mean the me I have just embodied doesn't exist anymore and the ones in the future are gone forever. But I'd still do it, and I'd use my superior intelligence to my advantage.
